The Top Cat 36 spectre ran 168, with B max drives. it probably would go 175 but we were maxed out with props and obviously the drives. Had to carry a spare where ever we went. The boat sold to a fellow in Ohio I beleive. It was later reported stolen and the thiefs cut the back of the boat off to access the motors. This was about a year ago.
the new owner was a speed newbie and was reported he was kicked out of Lake Havasu for repeated speed violations.

Yep it was from NJ and the guys name was Otto. It is now on LI. I dont know if they were 1500's though. If you do a search on here you'll find some info on the boat.

Ha theres a lot more than that....He flew down to Florida to test ride in the boat, I asked him if he's been fast before. He said "yeah, my last boat ran 86 mph"
I told him when he hears the blowers start whinning hold on tight, you should have seen his face at 160!

No 36' cat runs in the 160's with twin 750 hp motors! It would take closer to twin 1200's!!

I believe Tony Fricinis 36 has seen 170.Rolf from pro roc built the motors and throttles it for Tony.

I built all the boats you are referring to and I believe the fastest was Otto Fisher's boat. He did have motors in the 1300hp+ area.
