Those engine's are not the 350 mags with 300 HP they are only rated at 260 HP.

The flame arrestor covers say 5.7 EFI. Those are the 260 HP motors. The 350 MAG MPI's where 300 HP. That is why I questioned the speeds. I had a 1999 23' runabout with a 5.7EFI in it and it was a strong motor. In fact, a buddy had the same boat only with the 5.7L which was 250 HP (2 bbl. carb) and I would outrun him by 2 MPH. 10 HP should not have made that much difference. I would have thought a 32 Dominator with twin 5.7EFI's would have been a mid 60's boat. Learn something new every day!! Just shows how efficient that pad bottom hull is with the lighter weight small blocks in it.

That's the salt!:drink: Standard load of gear, fresh water LOTO at 660 ft above sea level and you are high 60s on your best day, maybe tickle 70 on the right day in Chevy's 6.2s. They do run great though, and are really fuel efficient compared to the big blocks.

The 454 mags were tested at 80+ mph in Fla in PB magazine in the old dominators. My engines would run 75-76 all day long at LOTO. Hit 78 on one fall day when all the stars aligned. But never saw 80 regardless of conditions or load. But 660 feet and lighter water scrapes a few mph.

The boat looks great for 45K, Shogren wants 35K more for a boat with no power that is 3 years newer. This guy's boat should be "sold." Too many people are hung up on the small power but it is turn key boating at a price where you could replace the power with big blocks and not be buried in the boat! My sales pitch would be buy it, run it until it blows up and then build your dream power for the boat! In the meantime you are out on the water.....

How many people on here have boats in pieces that haven't seen water in years (and possibly more years to pass) building their "dream boat" only to sell it for 1/2 or less of what they have in it!

Small blox are a hard sell!!! Weight makes up for the short HP compared to the 7.4's and 454's but definately don't have the same sound!!! :drink:

i disagree the boat sounded really good for 350's i dont think 454's sound much better i really dont 454's in that boat are really worth it i have herd guys with 454's only getting 72 mph out of them. i dont think the power to weight ratio is much better. if you want to go fast which i dont really care too much about, you need to get atleast 496 mags.

What was your overall feel of the boat can you pm me with your assesment I'm like 8 hours away and it would be nice to hear what another memmber thought of this boat

Question what was the RPM range that you seen at a cruise speed? Not top end but just a cruise speed!
