My 2003 was rigged with the Merc ITS Standoff Boxes (Neutral) from the factory with -2 shorties. The drives were sold off of the boat before I purchased it and was sold to me with standard length lowers. The boat hit a wall at 80....no matter what props I tried it hit the wall at 80. I had some -2's built as I knew the boat was rigged that way originally....I picked up roughly 6 - 8 MPH doing this....bottom line there was to much gear case in the water. There have been other guys with 496 HO's (Kanookster) that put -2's on their older 32's and picked up speed. Let us know what props you are running as well as gear ratio and speed and we can run the calculations etc. if you have not already.

I almost bought Claude's boat at one point, but just couldnt get him down to where i was comfortable buying it... he told me that he had a set of 32's(?) that were custom labbed by Mercury and that he saw a best of 86 with his HO's. Also said that his HO's were better on fuel than the regular 496MAG's when compared to a friends 32.
Clean boat for sure.
Im not sure how much of a difference it would make but the weekender package has a fridge and some other things... may scrub a mile per hour or so? maybe not?

I have standard length Bravo ones with nose cones, 1.36 drive gear ratio and i'm running 29 pitch 4 blade labbed Bravo props. Don't know about the X dimension. I'm running about 5300 RPM and should be running 5600 to get my peak HP. It runs 98mph pretty much any time. 100 is very rare. Please calculate this for me if possible. Thanks

Looks like you have roughly 8% prop slip which is good. It's not to say that shorties would not help with having less gearcase in the water.I would be interested in hearing how the other big powered older hull 32's were or are setup.

Has anybody had any experience with super chiller inter coolers? Do they make any additional horsepower like they claim?

I've got a buddy with a 38 Fountain running 575's with Super Chillers ......and YES......they make more power.

you just looking for a bigger # on the top end?

Your right on LAriverratt.......My 32 SSR does 93mph no matter how much fuel I have or how many bodies on board!
(Slighltly slower in the heart of the humid upstate NY summers......91.5mph) ...but very consistent since i've owned her!!
She runs's parallel to the water with just about no hull in the water....see here (First boat to pass):

..definetely took some time to acclimate myself to running this much HP in a 32 foot boat.....but I'm confident that I could handle her at higher speeds with my drive set up...but within reason.
I did the Kingston Run in 2008 and met a Gent that had a Pre 2004 Hull Dominator that ran 117mph.......DOHHH!! He had 5 Peeps on his vessel during the run as well.
