Default Trailer for Sunsation 288

I bought an 05 Sunsation 288, but the trailer that came with it was not made for this boat.
Any suggestions on where I might find a trailer (new or used) that would properly fit my Sunny?

I would have a custom built trailer ordered for you boat and stay away from the cheap aluminum I beam trailers. MYCO Trailers, Manning Trailers, Heritage Trailers, B&M Haul Rite Trailers are some good options to look into. B&M Haul Rite are built at LOTO, Heritage are built in Benton, Ill, Manning are built in Michigan and MYCO are built in Bradenton, Fl. Prices have increased some and lead times are longer this year due to not being able to get axles and such delivered. Be sure to at least have EOH brakes installed on the build.

Thanks Cinci Ben. I was wondering who Sunsation bought from that might have the specs to be able to make me one. I appreciate all the trailer knowledge you shared. All new to me.

Your welcome, any of these I listed will be able to help you with the 288 specs very easily.

What kind of trailer do you have now? I might be a good trailer that just needs to be modified to fit your Sun. Post a pic of it.

Had to do tons of adjustments to mine when l purchased my 2002 288 with custom built trailer. Previous owner didn't use it for more than storage. But my intentions were to trailer the boat multiple times per week. So modifications fixed that problem. A little added steel bracing and added some "good" brakes. All new hardware, strap, bunk carpet and it was good as new. Had to have the boat lower to the ground as well so l didn't have to back so far into the water. It sat way too high and looked kinda like the boat was on a pedestal. Painted it too while l had it apart.

It's a "Hi-Tech Marine" Trailer. Aluminum. Previous owner just used it once a year to take boat out as he had the boat on a lift.
This is a triple axle trailer, and the previous owner told me that since it's aluminum the six tire cause the trailer to float around a bit when backed all the way in the water.

No way for me to add a pic. ...here is a link to a pic: https://www.netboattalk.com/forums/t...180/#post-8228

That trailer can be modified to fit. It needs to have the main bunks modified to fit the bottom. And a set of front V-bunks added so it loads easier.
You can add a couple of dumbbells to the back of the trailer to add some weight.

Thanks. Sydwayz. Good to know. Will try to find a place that can help me with that. Might be hard to find in my area (sticks) but worth a shot.
