That sucks. I have been lucky and have not had a problem for all the years that I have been boating. Until last month. Took the wife and granddaughter out in the RIB the first day it was nice out. Spent the day on the water watching the lake. We have pulled several crazy things off the lake being the first ones in after the ice is gone. Stopped at the local park, then we were heading to the ramp. Guard down, I hit something almost 100 feet out in the water. It was one of the large boat hoist that got pulled off the beach from the ice going out. Put a hole in the bottom of the RIB, Insurance company totaled it out and let me buy it back. I have it repaired already. But that crushed my ego. We made it back to the ramp safely. Thankfully I had not got on plane yet.
