Smooth Going Chris :D

Liquidsation 05-04-2004 09:41 PM

Let us see the pics of the hull!!!!! I want to see the steps.

Canada Jeff 05-05-2004 06:11 AM

32, or 288. I can't tell. I see you went with the wind shield.

What power?

ccarloss 05-05-2004 07:23 AM

Awesome!!! Congrats Chris.

Chris288 05-05-2004 07:23 AM

Thanks CCarlos...

Jeff,, 288, the 32 doesn't have the full step. Fairing,, no windshield... 496 H.0.

You can kinda see the new stepped front strakes in pic. 2. Don't have any of the full rear step..

Here is a rendering from Mitch. T. of the grapics,, hopefully she will be ging to paint VERY shortly...

Canada Jeff 05-06-2004 05:59 AM

Love the graphics, I can't make out the new step.

You gotta take some pics of it, when you get her.

Did you test run a 288 before you bought? Wondering if you can tell the diff once you run yours?

Reckless32 05-06-2004 09:03 AM

Very sweet Chris! The illustrator versions of the graphics never do Mitch justice. the finished products are always awesome. You're gonna love the new dash/fairing design as well. Very cool and more leg/foot space...

Chris288 05-06-2004 11:08 AM

Thanks everyone,,, we are getting to the point where we are very excited.. delivery is expected around the 20 th at this point..

Rick,, I agree,, the boat should look AWESOME in person.

Jeff,,, will do....

unfortunately, there was 3 feet of ice on St. Clair when we went out to the factory. So a demo/test ride was not gonna happen.. so the inital splash is going to be an experience..
:D

Indy 05-08-2004 06:06 AM

Very nice Chris...good luck with it :D

Is this boat still available without the step?

DaveSunsation 05-08-2004 08:07 AM

Indy,

The 288 is only availble with the new stepped bottom.

Chris288 05-10-2004 07:22 AM

I'm on the fence with regard to the step myself. Joe said he told me about the new full step when I drove out to the factory,, I must have been a zombie from the all nighter we pulled driving out there and never caught that,,, seems pretty significant for me to not catch on to.. Regardless,,, I don't think Sunsation would put out a hull that wasn't fully tested and dialed in. It's a small step, about 3/4" from what I have heard, and our boat being one of the first ones out, I'm hoping it's not very noticeable compared to a straight V..

mlitefan 05-10-2004 02:53 PM

Wanna trade Chris?:D

My guess is you are going to love the new hull...especially if it eliminates the slight porpoise in flat water.

Canada Jeff 05-11-2004 06:36 AM

Hey Dave, can you tell us for sure on the porpouse on flat water with this new hull? Is it gone?

DaveSunsation 05-11-2004 07:08 AM

You bet guys, no flat water porpose on the new 288 hull bottom - It really is a great new hull. Wayne and Dave Morioty did an absolutey awesome job.

Reckless32 05-11-2004 09:31 AM

Any pics at all of the hull/step?...

Canada Jeff 05-11-2004 12:46 PM

I wonder if those two, Dave and Wayne Morioty, think a extention box would help the now old hull?

Just thinking, now that the porpose is gone, was it due to more bow lift? Or less? Or something different??

I wonder I wonder?

Reckless32 05-11-2004 03:02 PM

The key is to get out of the smooth and into some manly water.....:D

Indy 05-11-2004 05:06 PM

Right on Reckless...who cares about smooth water  The log I floated in on does well in smooth water :p

mlitefan 05-11-2004 10:31 PM

Some of us sissy's boat on lakes as well!. :D

Canada Jeff 05-12-2004 06:36 AM

My river system is narrow, and therefore smooth. When I want manly water, I just tow the hour to the thousand Islands, and Lake Ontario!

Now, back to my original question, Dave, can you help us older hull styles?

Re: Our NEW 05 Full step.... to be delivered shortly..

Jeff,

Sure can help you, we're giving special pricing on 2005 orders for any 288 Sunsation owner prior to the new bottom. I believe you also asked if the ITS would help any, it will not help take any flat water porpose out. The original 288 bottom served us well as it still will you for many years, it's still an unbilievable rough water 28. Let me know if there are more particular questions I can answer.

HP

I'll try to get some new bottom pictures up later today.

Re: Our NEW 05 Full step.... to be delivered shortly..

Well, Picked up the boat in MD at 4:30 yesterday,,, was very surprised when I saw a stock 26 Bravo 1 on the back,,, Guess thats good news,,, said with the new hull and bottom a 24 B1 was not nearly enough prop, she should fly with my labbed 26. Anyway, took care of business hooked her up to the truck and headed home,, let me just say how important a GOOD trailer is,,, this boat towed incredible,, the torsion axles make a HUGE difference,, this boat towed significantly better than my old Baja 232. 5 hours later and still shaking my head how well she towed, she is sitting in the drive way, waiting to have the shrink wrap removed,, looks like rain today so maybe saturday for her first splash. Let me also say how awesome the guys at Sunsation were, they obliged my every request and were excellent to work with, cant wait to actually see it and drive it.. :D:D

Derek, cool,, good luck....

Update 2... The sun came out,, BOTH OF THEM :D:D ripped the shrink wrap off and WOW, what a beut. Clark... boat looks down right INCREDIBLE. Found a few minor things that sould be able to be corrected quite easily..

launched around 3:00 took it easy,, and just cannot say enought about how nice this overall package is, we are very happy....
