Wow... looking great and exceeding my expectations!

This is such a change from the base plug that you would never know that Powerplay was ever involved. With all the changes to the bottom and extensive tooling, I wonder if they even needed a base 'mule' to start with. Good ethics and carma by not splashing sometime elses hull without legal approval (and a few $$$). Nice job Sunsation.

Will a passenger speedo go in the area near the glove box on the port side? What is the recessed area infront of the swim ladder on the swim platfrom (shower or just storage?)?

I hope you can keep the weight down, or it will eat Bravos. If you are around 10K as planned you should be OK, if you drive nicely. Would love to see one with #6s and 850s!!! Dibs on a #6 demo boat if you build one!

Hey Boomer, about a year ago "Mama Tried" took you up on this bet...I bet a box of donuts that at 10,000 pounds they will be lucky to hit 80 mph, let alone 86 mph... any takers?

It will be interesting to see who wins, I believe we were talking about a pair of 525s at that time.

The area on the port side you are referring to (the round area) is for remote stereo controls. There is a similar tooling on the drivers side for the same thing.

The recessed area in front of the swim ladder is for a transom shower, and there will be a spicket in there which you can hook a hose to to use as a fresh water flush. There will be a valve in the engine compartment so you can flush out both engines and the generator all from the same hose hookup. It will also be handy for winterizing.

The indentations on each side of the swim platform are just grab handles for coming up the ladder. They will have drains.

They are still shooting for under 10K pounds. They know they have to do a few new things in their lamination schedule to attain that goal.

Love the boat, but I think it has too many features to hit 10,000 pounds at 43'. The 42 Outerlimits weighs over 10K and the 43 Nortech is 12+K.

I am sure the Sunsation team will do their best, but that is a tough goal. The new 39 Nortech came in at approximately this weight, but has a lot less cabin features, less overall headroom and a much smaller swim platform. The Nortech is a great looking boat and has put up some huge performance #s. This would be a great goal.

The benefit Sunsation has is that the added length from the Powerplay came mostly from adding a Dominator 'beak' and a swim platform.

My bet would be closer to 11,000-11,500 pounds and a speed of 78-82 with 525s. Dave... want to bet a box of donuts on this? Wish you guys the best of luck. No matter what is weighs as speed it hits, I am sure it will be a great boat!

The 39 Nortech is one we talked about this weekend. Terry posted it weighed 9200 lbs with 525s and ITS. 89mph, I think they have that pretty much dialed in.

It will be interesting to see how close they come to their goals.

They've made incredible strides in the deck and cockpit area since we were there in July. Pete did an incredible job with the dash. I love the mini fairings in front of the Bomar hatches.

What's the oil burner going in?

And you will be first to go down the main channel on a holiday weekend...you want one ski or two? The course is from Grand Glaize to the dam. You get to choose how long you want it to take to get there. :evilb:

Once again they made it clear that the eye was a grab handle for coming up the ladder. You really don't need it though, by the time you use the second set of inset handles in the swim platform you are far enough up to not need that handle.

But we can take Rob tubing :D.

What I was asking was what boat is that diesel motor (i.e. oil burner) going in?

I believe it could end up in a 288 going to Greece. I think it is research at this point.
