Yeah, being even a small part of the Super Bowl weekend can't compare to racing in Grunts Ferry, Arkansas. Hopefully JC can do better next year.

Congrats guys. Exposure is what it is all about. I spoke to Pop Pop today, he said there were fans all over the place. When you bring in sponsors, like Panasonic, and Gieco, you have to prove the numbers, if you want to keep the sponsors coming. Smitty

Apparently everyone was at the south end. Did you shower this morning?

Come on Pete. Everyone knows that the race was a sideshow to the "Saturday in the Sand" celebration. The parking issues alone kept many true offshore fans away, while many football fans were introduced to the world of offshore. The race was buried into the other activities surrounding the Super Bowl. It reminds me of the OSS Las Vegas race. I searched every LV newspaper site for a story and didn't find a single one that weekend. It's tough to compete with the other activities in LV, just like competing with the Super Bowl activities. That's why the smaller markets welcome offshore with open arms - the race is the only game in town.

I still say that being mentioned with the other activities today, and running in front of many in their hotel rooms, by hotel pools, at Super Bowl activities, etc. ONLY HELPS THE SPORT OF OFFSHORE. All of offshore, not just SBI/APBA.

I beg to differ. I was FRONT and CENTER for the races and all festivities. The beach was NOT shoulder to shoulder, but was VERY busy. It was overcast and a little cool. The crowd watching the Celebrity Flag game was wowed by the PR boats running hard. Then the first race start was cool, but couldn't hold a crowd that had been in bleachers for a few hrs. By the time the second race got going, the bleachers had refilled and they got a decent show. More boats, or one race, would have been cool.
