What of the idea of rigging a 30' with a Yanmar 440 and an Arneson drive? Weight issues? Enough space in the engine compartment (62 inches needed I think)? CG problem? Cost?

And Who Is Going To R & D This Boat, $$$$$, As For The Surface Drive Jc Will Not Get Involved, I Went That Road With Him. Put A 496 Ho In The Y2k And You Will All The Better For It. Save Your Money. The Y2k Is The Best Deal On The Market, With The 496 Ho.

I got my ass kicked by a Sunseaker powered by one a couple of years ago...

A Konrad rep was at the shop last month in reference to deisel applications. Fairly simple. But the $$$$$$. But thousands of hours of play time can make it worth it.

I think piece of mind is worth alot of $$$$$$$.

But what kind of money? Guess I should be asking a Konrad guy.

I've got a boat builder friend that just powered one of his 42' 20 ton party barges with twin 350HP diesels and dual props.
The boat was just sea trialled and move real well.
32 knot cruise and 36 knot top end.
He is switching to dual prop out drives from inboards on all his boats.

Konrads are about $11k + 2k for tranny.
These drives are tough as nails... military tested.

Anyone know how much an imco extreme cost or merc xr w/ ITS or max worx?

But I'm not so sure the y2k is the right candidate, with it being so light weight. I could easily see twin diesels in a longer heavier boat.

I saw a 35 cafe racer w/ twin cats at the miami show in '93.
Top end wasn't there maybe mid 60s, but it could cruise forever at 10% under rpm redline. Most of our HP boats have very little resisitance, especially when on plane, compared to what the diesels are usually pushing around.
