She has Bravo 1 out-drive, Imco full hydraulic steering, and 280-K planes. Poweris a rebuilt 415HP/502MagMPI that probably makes 15-20HP more than stock.
I run a 28p Bravo 1 prop with the engine topping out at 4800rpm. A three blade prop might make the boat go faster, but it is not as stable...
Top speed recorded this year is 76.4mph GPS one person and low on fuel. With 4 people, gear, and 1/2 tank she tops out at 73-74mph.
The previous owner of my boat had a 502 that was estimated at 550HP. I am not sure how fast the boat really went; the owner said he saw 89-90 on the speedo. My guess is low 80s.
If you are re-rigging an older 24' with a Bravo 1 drive, I would start with the same X dim as mine, approx 17-1/2". Pantera also sets the X at 17-1/2" on their 24'.
If you go higher, you will have to run one of the high $$ 5 or 6 blade props to carry the bow.
500HP will push the boat low 80s, 600HP might have a 24'
knocking on 90.
Full Hydraulic steering and K-280 size trim tabs are a must.
I would also check the hull for any hook that may have developed over the years.
If She is not straight, running above 70mph will be a chore...
Good Luck and Please keep us posted.

I have a 1980 24' Superboat, basicly stock 454, with bolt on mods. TRS 23" 5 blade Ron Hill propeller, I go 71+ on GPS with 5 people and 1/2 tank gas. . No K-planes.

Re: x factor on 24?
Mike, the best prop I tryed before this one was a 4 Blade Hydromotive, I have used Mirage plus, Bravo 1, The Ron Hill 5 blade has been the best to date, I gained few MPH top end, and 2-3 mph mid range... I will let you try it out and see how it works for your application - if your thinking about buying one. I will give you a call tomorrow. Tom
