Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Tom you think its more the set up or the suspension system they use? I have allways had torsion axles in my trailers and never a ride complaint?

FASTERDAMITT 03-23-2006 11:02 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

I think it's a combo of the trailer flex due to design and boat positioning.

SUPERSTITIOUS 03-24-2006 08:26 AM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

I beliebe it is due to the limited suspension travel myself being not as smooth as the torsion though I find mine not terrible. All alum trailers flex. Tom, I would check your forward bunks to be sure your getting the propper support there and you are not creating a spring board effect. I had rolls axel send me some extra spacers and pucks to raise and pitch the forward bunk (as well as the front section of the rear bunks)for more support foreward.

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

I'll take some pics and forward them to Rolls to see if they can help. Thanks.

Rob,
Here is what your looking for. This is my Superboat measurements.

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Thanks Tom

How deep is the oil pan your using now? The one spec'd out for the moment is 10". Wonder if Rick moved the step in question on your drawing forward, back, or same. LOL

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

My pan just sits above the notch. Is your blower gonna fit?

z.zuperboat 03-25-2006 07:46 AM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

The Steps Are Too Deep For The Pan To Be A Problem. Now The Notch Is Another Issue. 10 Inch Pan Is Only 1 Inch Deeper Than The Stock 500 Pan. Thats Just My Opinion.

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

LOL thats one bad motor there Gary...

Missed ya Tom we were in San Francisco all weekend for my father-in-laws 60th. Where did you end up going out to?

I guess I said step when I should of said notch... I just hope that its not going to be a custom oil pan situtation and if your measurements are correct then the blower will fit Tom.

Hey guys, here's a few pics of the Konrad Ace system. The transmission is located in the extension box. Motor stays in the same location as a Bravo set-up.

We're very excited about this project! Should be a bullet proof package!

Very nice! How much more weight than a XR?

z.zuperboat 03-28-2006 12:12 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

I Bet Its 300lbs More Than The Xr Setup. Drive Gimble Box And Tranny. I Bet It Holds Like 10 Quarts Of Oil.

HuntingtonBeach 03-28-2006 01:35 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Holds 7 qts if I remember right and it wasn't more then like 150lbs. At 300 it be weighing the same as a #6 and this drive is no where near that big.

Yes, the Konrad Ace is about 150 lbs over a Bravo.

Rob,
I thought a #6 weighed around 550 LBS. ???
Oh, here are some shots of your hull. The shots are of the ballast tank and the pump that I installed today. Still have to put the sending unit in the tank before I glass it all together.

Awsome!!!!

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Coming together nicely Rick!!!

I could be wrong but from my memory its:
Bravo 200lbs
Konrad 350lbs
#6 550lbs

FASTERDAMITT 03-29-2006 08:30 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Ok so the weight is at least 150#s more. What about the HP loss running through the tranny and larger components? Xr is around 30HP loss if I remember right.

HuntingtonBeach 03-29-2006 09:49 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

The drive it's self has less drag, but you got me on the tranny... I have no idea???

Power loss through the trans is minimal. It's 1:1 ratio so there's no loss there. It holds @ 2 qts of tranny fluid so not much drag there. I'll ask headquarters.

Kurt

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

So The Drive Is 150lbs More, The Transmission Is About 100lbs And The Gimbel Looks Massive So That Has To At Least 50 More Than The Bravo. Not Having To Worry About Drive Issues Priceless

Actually, the entire Konrad package including the trans, is @150 lbs heavier than a Bravo package.

Over 150 installations in the performance boat market. Zero failures!!!!

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Priceless is such a great word!!!

Motor parts are starting to show up, I'll try and snap some pictures of the shop and the build when I get by. I know once you seen a blown BB you have seen them all but hey It's cool to me!!!

So I told Coen to use his judgement on the interior and graphic... Was that a good or a bad thing?
