Rob, waz up with the Konrad drive/800 HP motor pkg. ?????

HuntingtonBeach 04-06-2006 08:04 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Konrad is on order suppose to be at Superboat next week... motor parts are still coming in, hopefully build up will begin next week. The guesstimation is well over 800/800 but for now the EFI, Dry Sump, and some other odds and ends are staying off so we can avoid any issues for Coen. Hopefully the motor will be done and out to Superboat by the end of the month (not that I think they will be ready for it LOL). I'll get some pictures up next week of the motor shop and the parts lying around!!!!

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Thats great news Rob !!!!! Question for you, does Konrad have a new motor/drive combo on the market ????

HuntingtonBeach 04-07-2006 10:04 AM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Yes they do, If I remember right they have 3 motors available a 600, 700, and 800 BB w/ warrenty. Retail on the 800 w/ drive was like 85k. One of the Konrad guys can probably fill you in better then me. If the "Ace" drive holds up like they claim it will be the hot ticket.

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Nope still here just working like a dog!!!!

Haven't confirmed yet with John but the drive package is suppose to be at Superboat. The Hull is out of the mold and the deck is done but they are not together yet last I heard. I assume John is waiting for rigging stuff since he's been calling me every couple of weeks with an update. The blower for the motor is ready for pick up as of last night so I think they are going to start building this weekend????

I'm swamped at work right now so boating is the furthest thing from my mind. I was hoping to hit the water Memorial but It ain't going to happen so 4th July???? Maybe????

Tom, what time are you hitting the water saturday??? I think I'm just going to put the wakeboard boat in the water, I'm not going to get into Havasu early enough Friday to prep the eliminator.

I'm hoping to be on the water before eight. :evilb:

Rob,
The Konrad was delivered on Tuesday, I believe. Still have to uncrate it. It''s HUGE !!!

Rob, I didn't see you anywhere!!

FX10 05-01-2006 11:28 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Opened the Konrad crate today. Some package and very impressive. One thing we saw is that the drive has no water pick ups. And it's a Left hand rotation, which I like.

HuntingtonBeach 05-02-2006 11:00 AM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Rick, looks like we'll need some transom mount pick ups... Glad the unit is there. Hows the rest of the boat coming along? Did all the Livorsi stuff arrive yet? Was thinking of coming out when the motor is done... like another month I'm guessing.

Tom, you floated right in front of us at Black's on Saturday morning. I tried to yell but that cam of yours has way too much lope for you to hear me. We were already anchored and you bailed out before we started north. Where did you guys go hide? We looked at steamboat, copper, thompson bay, channel, sand bar, and Topock. I know its a big lake but damn your good at hiding!!!! Poker run was cool and we shot some video that I'm going to try and figure out how to edit and post. I guess we'll have to hook up another weekend.

Rob

z.zuperboat 05-02-2006 12:38 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

For the transom pickup I used the IMCO WP-38A. Trimmed nice to fit in the notch. Also still adjustable. On long island we have lots of grass so the pickup had to be against the transom also alittle silicone between the pick up and the gelcoat so nothing squeaks between their.

Rob, I could not resist runnin back up stream with the Poker Run boats. Let's say either I drive like a nut or the Y2k is more capable than most. If it was'nt for the seat belts I just installed, I would be minus three back passengers I'm sure. The only boats that passed me, was a couple of huge Skaters! Although I did have a neck to neck run with a 35' Cig for awhile. Just could'nt take him. All the others in my sight where handled by the Y2k. It was a blast. Can't wait till your out there with me. :drink:

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Ok so lets get some guesses going on the dyno numbers:

598cu
Dart Pro heads
14-71
Carb

Thats as specific as I'll get ;)

z.zuperboat 05-03-2006 05:59 AM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

without knowing boost numbers im in between 1000 and 1100 . If your going to run an intercooler you mite as well install 2 pickups from the start. one for the motor and one for the cooler.

Well we know from Faster that an engine like that is capable of 800HP NA. So add a blower to the mix and Zup has the number, 1000 to 1100HP.
If you wants some more specific guesses, we need to know the cam, boost, and if it will have an inter-cooler???

HuntingtonBeach 05-03-2006 08:39 PM

Re: Rob, Huntington Beach !!

Intercooler- Yes

I'm being lazy... posting cam and head #'s and boost means I have to go over to the shop and read boxes or look up info, and there is beer at the shop and a big screen.... Hey wait a sec!!!!! See ya later :)

Tom, sounds like you're having fun! Too cool - next year I hope to be stabilized in my new job enough to travel some more, we'll see if we can't head west one day! That Y2K hull is impressive - I often have other boaters of equal or larger size coming in when I'm headed out, saying it's too rough out there.....

I gave up guessing on Hp... the motor kept changing so I'm just gonna wait and see what the dyno says. I'm sure I'll have a smile when they drop the hammer on it.
