Re: twin outboard Y2K FAST!!
How Fast Do You Think A Y2k Would Go With A Pair Of 280's. Do You Think That 90+ Is A Real # Or That Just A Dream?? How Light Is The Std Light Layup ?? Would The Hull, Interior, Rigged With Outboards Be Under 3200 Pounds Or Is That Way Off. To Answer Your Other Question I Live In Washington State And The Old Boat Is Still In Our Town. Thanks Bryan

Re: twin outboard Y2K FAST!!
With those motors you might hit 90 but thats with top speed props... weight wise I would guess your still pushing closer to 4000#
The 30 is big enough you could go triples???

Re: Y2K / Outboard

Curious!?!.....Would the outboard(s) be bracket or transom mounted? Also, can the cockpit be lengthened (shortening what would be the eng compartment) with the outboard(s)??...........Jason
I FOUND THIS QUESTION FROM A FEW MONTHS AGO CAN ANYONE ANSWER IT.

Re: twin outboard Y2K FAST!!
The outboard version of the Y2K has a motor well, The cockpit is the same in both versions. There is no swim platform on the outboard version,
The 30' Tempest Freeze Frame had a 3' Gil setback on a full transom. I'm sure that could be done under the swim platform.

Re: twin outboard Y2K FAST!!
I bought a 24' at Sport Boat Sales back in '99. At that time one of the sales people was a young guy, maybe in his early 20's. He had dark hair and told me John was building him a Y2k with twin outboards. I spoke to him once afterwards, when I came across the boat for sale in some publication, don't remember where. I called him and he said the boat was doing low 80's with twin 300's. I never spoke to him again. I alwaysw wanted to see a pic of how the transom looked and a profile shot. Im cursing myself for not having asked for a pic.
