I was thinking about your gas tank vent issue. I'm thinking that it may be as simple as turning those screen opening down.
We will run together again soon my friend...

If I'm not mistaken the vent itself has an elbow. you could possibly turn it so it points up then flex bend the hose like a candy cane...
