A 27' boat would be the perfect size for me to step up to next, but... 
If I was in the position to buy a new boat, there is really no better deal than the 30' Super...

With the weight of a 30 being nothing already, I can't see any advantage to a 3 foot shorter hull. You can't take much room out of the engine bay or the cockpit so I guess it would come off the nose? (shorten up the 30 mold?) If the trade off was gain 3-4mph in weight savings vs. smaller running surface then I think i would stick to the 30. Not to mention they would be close to the same price to start with.
