As far as I know it is still for sale at MDG. What a sweet ride! I actually tried to work a deal on it last year, but the banks were not my friend! :angry-smiley-038:. It is hands down my favorite Y2K! Hopefully Dave will be able to save it for me until the recession is over!

I'm gonna give props to Dave at MDG for a minute . You all know this Y2K was sold to Jamie in Tampa who ran the hell out of it in a couple of Poker runs . Now Jamie who is a boat guy is not a motor guy .. Meaning he doesn't build motors or do major repair himself .. Then I bought the boat and I have to admit , I'm guilty too all I did was change the oil at fifty hours ,and drive the Hell out of it , nothing else . So now I decided to give it some love before the 4th of July weekend and I yanked the motor out , pulled the oil pan, checked the bearings , leak down , compression test , sanded and put fresh paint on it . And I have to say , the only thing I found wrong after 108 hours was a leaky intake gasket due to the bolts vibrating loose and, several other bolts loose ( again me neglecting to do basic maintenance ) and a little rust from the salt , and that was it ...
Got the boat back together and took it out all weekend , ran 90.4 with 3/4 of a tank of gas , my wife , four year old and two friends in the back seat .. Need a motor built CALL DAVE AT MDG ... http://www.mdgmarine.com/ |
That is my favorite y2K built to date... its awesome!
Great #s too, btw. |
Glad to here everything is holding up well

Dave At what hour mark would you think the motor needs to come out of the Y2K . I don't know if it has lost any power or not . I took it to LKN in September and a friend of ours and her son were sitting on the back seat a took a pic of the speedo at 90 with five of us in the boat and a 1/4 tank ..
Is there any more power to be found in this motor and keep it NA ? I think another 150 will get me to the triple digit mark . |
