Pat,

Guy is on speedwake a lot. Had it for sale with power a while back for 30k and I thought that was a deal. Had a 650hp N/A motor that took it past 80. I believe this has some sort of kevlar upgrade. Was going to put you onto it but found that it had sold before I got back from out of town over thanksgiving. This link has a lot of pics of the boat.

Thanks!
I talked with the dealer and they are going to put me in touch with the last owner.

A little update for those who may be interested.

I am not likely going to buy a new boat/hull.

-The 26' Joker has too small of a cockpit and cabin, not much bigger than my 24' Super and the wife said no.
-The 27/29 Kryptonite that was in stock and for sale at a reduce price was sold.
-The 28' Joker and 30' Superboat are out of my price range.
- I still have nothing concrete from Rich Sutphen.

I have been shopping for 4-5 weeks now for a good used boat that I could power with my engine and drive. Or for a turnkey boat that I could afford. Of course that does include used Y2Ks.
I am getting an itchy trigger finger and will likely make a decision in the next week or so...

Thanks to everyone for the input.

The one that I'm going to see on Sunday had about the same power and did run over 80 for the privious owner. If I buy it, she will just have my 502Mag and probably just crack 70. Getting back on the water is first priority, running faster can wait another year or two…

Cmon Guys, K-Wells is one of the lucky ones who, unlike us, isn't saddled with a wife. He is therefore free to explore "alternative" lifestyles without the expected consequence of angering the spouse. He's got it made! :angry-smiley-038:

If being man enough to let my girl know her place is considered an "alternative" lifestyle---I guess im guilty as charged. When my girl wants to change the color of the window treatments or the bathmat----she can. When it comes to buying a boat with money I earned she can either come on the boat I choose to buy or be replaced. "men" like superbabi, or as I like to call them "vaginas" forgot that about 40 yrs ago when they tied the knot and agreed to be castrated. Now lets get back to the topic-----offshore powerboats----- with balls. If superbaby dosnt like it maybe he should go chill on searayonly.com:cool-smiley-011:

Perhaps you could write a book to help out all us poor schleps who don't know how to put a woman "in her place". It ought to be a big seller. I can't wait to attend the book signing!

EASY there oprah--- I never said I "put" women in thier place. I love and respect all women. But just to hear someone mutter the phrase "the wife said no" in regards to purchasing a powerboat is just extremely painful to hear. I could just never imagine taking my wifes input on a powerboat seriously. A cruiser is a different story, but as I stated before this is not baylineronly.com now is it???

jayhawk261 12-11-2007 08:18 PM

I take everything my wife has to say seriously. This is mostly due to the fact that she is much smarter than I am (getting a phd and all!). I'm sure the reason that Pat and others such as myself welcome input from our wives on these types of purchases is due to the fact that we want our wives to spend time on the boat. My 24 is for sale and we are purchasing a larger boat solely because my wife is not comfortable in the big waves in our small boat. I can either tell her it isn't her decision to make and go boating without her, or I can work with her until we find a boat that both of us will enjoy and want to spend time on. In the end, doing it my way, we will both be happy. If you don't care to spend the time with your family on the water, then obviously your approach works well for you.

Sorry for Hijacking Pat. I can stop if you want me to. Maybe ask your wife if I should :D

Superbabi 12-11-2007 08:25 PM

K-WELLS , I see your acting just like Mommies little boy once again.:D

Well I have been trying to resist replying to your comments Master Wells. I do remember that you are new to this game.
I have to tell you that my wife has many more year of performance boating experience than you and could likely throttle a boat better than you have dreamed of. Many times, my wife ran our twin engine Cig home when had I tilted a few too many.
That said, her opinion as my co-captain on the water and in life is one that I do value. We have 2 children and a boat with a larger cockpit and cabin than a 26' Joker/Corsa is a very reasonable request.

Kevin.
Enoughs enough. I think we all had it with the bashing each other.
I will definately side with Pat on this one. Your age, / our age, Pat was telling the facts. His wife has been driving HP boats for almost as long as you have been alive. I've been doing it since you were still waiting 18 years to be born.
I will say that you are out of line on this one. Be grateful you were'nt talking about Kate. I know where you live. ;) Pats wife is a beautiful person, and didn't deserve what you said about her. I think you owe Pat, and his wife an apology.
Kevin, Almost all of the guys on this Superboat post are over 40. With many years experience behind them.
I've met you , and you were a gentleman to me.
Rick

If you have any class, you'll delete this post so the thread doesn't need to be deleted to get rid of it. You know, most of us have that little part of the brain that tells not to put everything we think in print. Perhaps you should work on that some.

Back on track! Pat good luck....hope everything checks out....if it is as clean as the pictures should be a nice boat. I think the boat originated or at the very least spent some time up in mine and t-islands area in Northern NY. If you are looking for a little more history let me know I can point you in a few places that might know the boat. There are a few guys in the formula section (TIBBC thread) that had velocites that might remember the boat.

Pat McPherson 12-12-2007 09:30 AM

Thanks CU,
VelocityRick told me that he did spend a lot of time on the lakes in NY. I believe he owned the boat for the last 3-4 years.
I plan to call him with a few more questions today or tomorrow.
There is another 28' V in MD that I'm also strongly considering. That is an older boat, but includes a 540cube engine and 03 drive for the same $$.
I've call two surveyors to go have a look but no luck yet.

Yeah he did use it up up in Central NY a bit, but I think he bought the boat from Aqua-mania (www.aqua-mania.com) which is the big performance dealership up by us up on the NY/Canadian border (at least some of the pictures I have seen have the boat on their sale lot). May have also been sold originally from a place up there that was selling a lot of velocities back in the day.
