Pat,
That boat is the sister ship to my old '96 26 :) You'll love it. BTW, with the 502/415 motor you should have no problems running in the low 70's, mid 70's on a good day. My old 26 ran a solid 85 with a massaged 454 / 540 in it spinning a 26P Lab Bravo 1 @ 5600 rpm. If you don't see those numbers then check the hull for hook. I've seen some of the 280's with a little hook and that can cut 5 mph off your top end. With those K planes you can get away with a perfectly flat rear section or even a little rocker. |
Oops, I didn't mean to post the Velocity pictures in the Superboat forum ;)

That is a great looking boat Pat. There are a lot of Velocity's on the river and they run very well. Fast boats....

The engine comes out of the Superboat tonight...:cool-smiley-011: |
Hey Pat, what does your switch panel on the Super look like? Mine is peeling and looks bad. If yours looks good, make me a deal!

Get this: The fellow in Texas that I sold the interior from my wreck to, may be buying the whole boat. He is rebuilding an old Cig and can use all the parts...:cool-smiley-027: This could save me a lot of time parting the Super out...:D |

The boat will be trailered to Texas by a transport arranged by the buyer. New tires are being mounted today hopefully. The deck is tied down to the hull so no duct tape required...:D |
pat, thats great news.... out w/ the old...

I've kept my engine, drive, and a few misc parts for my new boat. Then sold off the rest of the wreck for what was deducted from my insurance claim to keep the Super to part out...:D In the end I'm upgrading from a 1997 24 Super to a 1999 28 Velocity for about 3K...:evilb: |
ya think w/ the bigger boat, you might make it west? ;)
