They were cored between the stringers. Doing the whole botom was an option. Just knock on the bottom with your knuckels. You'll hear plain as day if it's fully cored.. Alot of people opted for the fully cored bottom.

Noli,
We've been kicking around the idea of a 30 Y2K CC for a few years now. It wasn't untill Paul from Aqua Marina, in Freeport sat down with Coen and discussed it. Paul said if he made a 30 CC, he would buy the first 2. And it started from there. Coen's daughters 24 IO CC was put on hold for this project. And we also got another order for a 24CC.
Once people see this Y2K CC, and the performance it's capable of. I think theyy will sell like hotcakes.
Fountain now holds the APRA record for the fastest CC. I;ll post the results below. The Fountain had 4 300HP optimax outboards on it. Watch the video.
I know the Y2K outboard does 94, and we just moved the fuel tank all the way to the back. He should see a few more MPH from that alone. And Alan is running the old bottom. The new hull with a couple 280's or 300's should be in the hundred range.

In MAY.....they did this with FOUR 300's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

May 18, 2007 – Washington, NC – "Fountain Powerboats, in a two-way average speed of 87.6 MPH, set the American Poker Run Associations (APRA) center console world speed record. The kilo boat was a Fountain 38’ Tournament Edition, named CorporateCars.com, powered by four 300 horsepower Mercury XS Optimax engines.

Conditions were less than optimal with a steady north wind coupled with a six to 12 inch chop, which proved to be no match for Fountain’s positive lift hull design".

I almost forgot....here's the video: http://media.fountainpowerboats.com/...ts/07-kilo.wmv

lol......87.6MPH... less than optimal conditions....1ft proved to be no match.....lol....lol

Sounds great to me!!

I gotta get a necklace !!!

Y2KCC sounds good to me. Still up in the air on that one.
Anyway, the floor was glassed in today. Next is a full sanding, gelcoating then assembly.
