Zup, If I'm not mistaken I had lower slip numbers with a stock prop VS a labbed one. Are you seeing this?

Pat McPherson 07-01-2008 12:21 PM

Hey Faster, remember Zup has a Speedy #V drive.

So what about all the other Super fast 30s?
Will the Turbine boat and Huntington Beach boat be ready to challenge anytime soon?

FASTERDAMITT 07-02-2008 12:17 AM

Oh yaaa. Could be a problem for Bravo props!

z.zuperboat 07-02-2008 06:22 AM

Has anybody had any luck using hydromotive props on their Supers. Faster,Slower, Attitude better or worse ?

Fast Eddie and PE run Hydro QIVs; JCap and Supersidious run Hyro P5X.
The P5X ran great on my 24 but not as fast as a B1.

FASTERDAMITT 07-02-2008 06:38 PM

I ran a QIV 29p on my Super. Unfortunately it must have been modified because it would not pull enough rpm. Felt like a 32 pitch. With that prop I did not like the trim available due to the increased stern lift. Offshore I think it would have been fine but in flatter water in Havasu it seemed to need more lift in the bow to get my rpm up. Although the prop did make the boat feel more solid than the Bravo1. Probably would be a great prop offshore.

That's what I run. I bought mine without the diffuser ring and labbed it for bow lift. In rough water I can spin it to 5900. Best prop so far.

z.zuperboat 08-29-2008 06:29 AM

Should have the prop back for the weekend. Probably go out one night next week to see if it works. Holiday weekends are not the best time for a safe run.

FX10 08-29-2008 08:07 AM

" I coulda been a contender " LOL Not to worry Mike, I think you'll finally get to the magic 100 mark. Can you borrow a Herring from someone ? ;)

jcap 08-29-2008 08:24 AM

Hey Mike!

So i know you went to a speedy,(props are a ***** im sure) but what did you do with the mota? where is your hp at? sorry but i got alot of catching up to do
I run a p5x hydro got amazing holeshot and very strong top end but i was racing p-class at the time and ultimate top speed was not my goal, i needed handling and strong hole shot more than top end.my best top end was with a labbed bravo, a 32lefty hads me in low 90s but that was with a few more ponies than i have now, remember a detuned a little to supress my appetite for bravo xr-drives
so since this is the SB30 speed thread ,bring me up to speed ( pun intended ) Gary 800 hp? (I give your bravo about 5 hrs)Pure energy, is that the Falcon boat? i think i tested that boat with Bertel ( remember Bertel? the crazy german you still around Bert?) hottest y2k paint job! whats your power? speeds

Jim

z.zuperboat 08-29-2008 09:43 AM

Jim I hit something in the water last year . It took the drive and the prop. Now I have a right hand big shaft. Added an intercooler over the winter and a new hatch for the added height. I loved my flat hatch but needed the room. I had ZUL dyno the mota and perform some magic. His first name should be changed from Richie to Merlin. He added about 100hp. Still have lots of testing to due with props to get it rite.

Looks like the battle is over for this year. Its way to cold for me . Theirs always next year. Anyway ive made some modes and hope Ill like them. Lowered the windscreen so I can read the water at speed. Buckets are in. Steering is wedged down 25% and pushed out 6 inches and the throttles where flipped. everthing is in reach but warm weather. OOO yea a new cover is a must if sitting works. It also shaved off 90lbs. And maybe less downforce with the lower windscreen

Superbabi 10-23-2008 08:03 PM

Mike, I must have missed a thread, I did not realize you were going sitdown. The seats look great, are they the same height as the factory Y2K seats ?? What brand seats ??

noli 10-24-2008 05:18 AM

The eats looks awesome !!! Are they carbon?

z.zuperboat 10-24-2008 08:12 AM

Seats are carbon fiber Bride copies. Height is based on the seat bases. Johns Y2K bases are lower. Ive tried them in the boat. John wanted 2k for a used pair. They where a bit much used.

You did not miss a thread G, Zup likes to spring things on us...:party-smiley-004:

Mike, The boat looks cool with the low wind screen. Do you have a pic that would show us the whole boat?

Sitting and driving is far better at speed than standing. I'm too short to sit and drive my new boat, she has an incredibly deep cockpit. If/when I change gears again sitting will be a priority...

z.zuperboat 10-24-2008 07:16 PM

Have to go for a ride to see if its a keeper. Everything bolts in so I can put it all back the old way. I want to see it in picks also just need the weather to cooperate.

z.zuperboat 10-25-2008 08:11 AM

Ok since the season is officially over. Its time to pay up. I was rite. Zul is still the man to beat.

z.zuperboat 11-02-2008 05:43 AM

Got some time on the seats yesterday. They are the perfect height. Sitting is sweeeeeet. Tripps got some pics and some vid of a few passes . Have to review that today hopefully. It was to flat to take down the number 1 man Zul. 99.8 was the number. My new ebay beach prop mite actually also be good for top end. Have to bring it to Mark at LI prop and get it scanned. Mark got the prop I run now dead balls on the money. It so good it stays in the prop box until I use the boat. Well the winterization is done . And its put to bed for another winter. What to dooo next. Maybe a molded swim platform !!

Superbabi 11-02-2008 03:08 PM

Mike 99.8 !!!!! My new Hero !!!!:ernaehrung004:

Vary impressive numbers Mike, I vote you can round that up to 100!:evilb:
I too went for a ride yesterday and I'd go again tomorrow if we hadn't changed the clocks, but I guess I'll be winterizing instead...

z.zuperboat 11-04-2008 06:26 PM

My guess is between 15-20; I did not hook up the hour meter. I got a late start this year (July) and struggled with elictrical/efi issues until the vary last day.
The last ride I changed the knock sensor again and installed the original ecu. No error codes for the first time!
I did a compression test and saw 150-155psi for all cylinders. Last night I changed the oil, ran 2 stroke thru the efi, and anti-freeze through the block. She's put to bed on a good note...

z.zuperboat 11-06-2008 01:04 PM

Tripps I have to come over and checkout the vid from the other day.

Who betting on gas being under $2 a gallon in the spring ?? Not me !! I can only hope. Not much planned for my boat in the spring . Only more boost and some good gas to back it up with. And yes the new 3 blade. Im sure Dino is working on the turbine and Ritchie the king Zul is working on something . Will the new Superbabie with the pumped up potter motor take away the crown. Its anyone guess.

$2 a gallon at the marine docks in the summer would be real nice.............we know thats not going to happen. 3 blade ??? whats up with that . The Superbabi motor is just getting tweaked a little.:grinser010:

z.zuperboat 01-18-2009 06:32 AM

3 blades are known to be faster on the top end. But suffer everywhere else. The props a 17 x 30 never really messed with and very thick. Lots of room for LI prop to make some changes now that I know what the boat likes.
Gary tweak it so it makes power to 6000 rpm. Theirs ALOTTTT of speed to be had between 5500 and 6000. I spend 95% of the time between 3000 and 3500 but 6000 is their if I want it.
