FX10 09-17-2010 07:15 AM

Boat looks great. Good luck with her. 45 hours in 45 days. Sounds like your having fun.

z.zuperboat 09-18-2010 06:45 AM

Nice boat built with the best . And you got it when you wanted it, with enough time to enjoy the rest of the season. Its good to buy a turnkey boat you know exactly what your getting. No broken promises.

boating37 09-18-2010 05:11 PM

You putting some hours on it. Good to here it looks good on the beach.I still have to send you the prop key.

Anybody know where the other Black sided (Cary?) Y2K is these days?

Dave M 01-06-2011 07:30 AM

Oh, and I had trouble establishing a value on my boat too. I settled on my loan at an agreed interest rate. A few weeks later, the bank jacked up my rate two points. They said they couldn't establish a value and changed the loan to an "unsecured" loan. The bank looked at the price list on Superboats website and talked to JC but still no luck.

I ended up changing the loan over to home equity, saved a few points, and get the tax benefit.

OCCJoe 01-06-2011 09:22 AM

I couldn't get a bank that I have all my business accounts with to give me a loan and I have almost no debt and my credit score was almost 800 , but I went to the credit union and in 15 min they ask me how much I would like the check made for .
I did my loan for 60 months at 4.75% .

Superbabi's Y2K listed in the classifieds is a hell of a deal for 37,500 minus motor , you could pick that up and a motor and you would be ahead of the game ! I think he's ready to deal so gime him a call . I heard something about him wanting a Bayliner ! Lol just kidd'n Gary , a little cross thread humor !

Yes I'm ready to make a Great deal on my Y2K. As for the Bayliner, she is a real Gem. an 1988 18' classic, all set up for the Ron Potter 800 efi !!!! lol lol:grinser010:

Don't you just sometimes wanna shove a big a$s motor in something it doesn't belong in just to freak people out ?
Today I found an 18' flats boat with a big block and a surface drive , 10" draft . ( sounds like fun )

smoker62 01-06-2011 07:20 PM

I need a turn key set up. I am new to performance boats and finding /installing an engine may be troublesome for a novice like myself. But I do have mechanical abilities. I have built high hp engines for drag sleds and Harley Davidsons so how hard can installing a crate motor be?:party-smiley-004: I should add, I would like the 90 mph MGD numbers. Superbabi, what were you pulling with the Potter? Sames as the MGD power ?

smoker, a drop in should be in the 1k range. As for the Potter 800 best we saw was 92-93 mph, however one day I hit 94.5 on the downward slope part of the bay !!! lol lol

Thats about the same as the MGD 800 speeds. 1000 is labor price to drop in? Not bad, I am leary of the 525 boat because of the header issues I have read about. How does your drive compare to the the Konrad ace? I assume you do not include a trailer? Sorry for the novice questions but I need to start somewhere. Hmmm 16 hour drive from me.

smoker how fast do you want to go ? The 525 is a great motor. Its just the CMI headers that are in question. I'm sure there are other headers out there, I have a set of factory reconditioned Stellings. As for the drives I have nothing but great things about the Konrad drive, as for the XR I have been lucky with mine. Rebuilt every seasons and oil changes every 15 hours. No issues. No trailer, my Y2K is always on a lift in season. As for the questions, not a problem, I love talking boats. Give me a call ,Thanks Gary.

OCCJoe 01-06-2011 08:17 PM

Well I have enjoyed the MGd boat , I talked to Dave before Jamie bought it but he just beat me to it !
Gary I must have the next design hull after yours because the Konrad drive is heavier and looses a couple MPH over the bravos but yet will still run the same speeds ..

Superbabi 01-06-2011 08:28 PM

Not sure Joe, but I think it takes a bit more HP to spin the Konrad.

Maybe but I feel good about throwing the power to it , I don't wait for the bang out the back anymore .
Happened on the Pantera once so far .

smoker62 01-06-2011 09:01 PM

I am looking for a 90 mph boat. I need to be conservative for my first true go fast. :bsflag: I want to get the boat so I can sign up for Tres school. I will go faster later. I have raced ice drag sleds that ran over 100 mph in 660 ft . Doubled hp and torque numbers on my Harleys . Just addicted to performance. Not the fastest, otherwise I would not be on a Harley. But to build the fastest Harley around my town was the addiction for me. My cousin and I have built him and his kid some 8oo hp corvette club cars. But, fast boats were always my passion growing up on the water. I just never could afford much in the way of true performance. I have kids in college and my boats have been 30-40,000 pleasure cruisers. I will some day own a twin 38-42 , maybe a cat but not ready for that skill level. I am old enough now to leave the throttle in the bottle instead of my young stupid race days . Just glad to still be alive when I think about it. I cant get enough of performance boat talk. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me.
