Ok y2k Owners I need your help once again . Does anyone know if Y2K's are published in any NADA , Kelly , or any other Value guides ?
The Bank can't find a superboat after 2000 and No Y2K's

Superbabi 10-28-2009 03:25 PM

LOL ! The bank's couldn't get me to pay on a house for more the 10 years , I Know I'm not gonna buy a boat and pay for 25 . Coan's is still my first choice but MGD boat is my fav , Gonna own a Y2K before the year is up !

Superbabi 10-28-2009 04:12 PM

OCCJoe, I would go to the Superboat Web Site, you can price out a New Y2K with all the published options that would apply to the Y2K your looking at. Once you know the New Value than perhaps you could determine a fair used market value.

OCCJoe 10-28-2009 04:20 PM

I told the bank to do that but they still want NADA list or evuivalent .

FX10 10-29-2009 06:24 AM

Joe, if I'm not mistaken. A bank will also accept a Marine Survey of the boat (a Valuation Survey). It's used for banks and insurance companies to determine the value of a vessel. I surveyed for years, believe me. Ask the bank if thats acceptable.

Rick

z.zuperboat 10-29-2009 06:27 AM

Your also going to want a survey for insurance anyway. So bite the bullet one time and get it done now.

FX10 10-29-2009 07:48 PM

Joe, Forwarded the info I told you to Coen. He Started flipping on me. Why are they asking you on line instead of asking me, your a FIBERGLASS GUY ( who has no knowledge of anything in the world except fiberglass ;) ). Why don't they just call me, And I would take care of it. That condasending attitude is going to be the demise of him.
Fun part was, it was in front of Sean. I feel like giving up sometimes. :)
Your a Fu3king fiberglass guy, what the f2ck do you know?
If he only knew?????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????

OCCJoe 10-29-2009 10:15 PM

Rick I appreciate any advice you have to give . I have had a hard time preparing to buy a Y2K . I only ask the questions that pertain to the problems I'm having with the bank financing the boat for me .
Some people have opinions of what I should and shouldn't do and that makes it hard for me to talk to them .
I've talked to a few of your fellow superboaters and for some reason I feel like an outsider , I hope that will change once I own a Y2K !
I didn't spend a thousand bucks and give up a weekend of boating because I wanted to visit NY , I went boat shoping ! I looked at three boats , The Y2K , a Kryptonite and the Bad Boy . Once I saw the Y2K I new it was my boat , but in all fairness I wanted to see the others . I didn't like the deadrise of the Kryptonite and the Bad Boy was just to UGLY to get past but that was kind of the appeal of it also . Then that Pr1ck Christian {toasty} talked down to me because I didn't buy the Bad Boy !
So, I've had a bad experience with this new boat venture but I'm still here and when it hapens it hapens !

Thanks
Joe

Occ- keep at it and you will be very happy when you are done, the Y2k is a great boat, and the superboat crew looks after its own. At the end of the day, if you are happy with your choice ...doesnt matter what anyone else thinks! Hope it works out for you, saw that y2k up close a few times, great looking boat!

Superbabi 10-30-2009 06:48 AM

OCCJoe, very glad to read your going Superboat !!! And by all means Rick ( FX 10 ) is the Bible for us Superboats owners, any questions, just ask Rick. What type of Power and speeds were you looking for with the Y2K ??? As for JC. he's not a bad guy....................he just needs to be Rummed up a bit to get his social skills going !!! lol:drink:

z.zuperboat 10-30-2009 06:49 AM

Ricks list of jobs. Builder/designer/salesman/internet support/superboat TV director and producer. Not just a F/N fiberglass guy. Not to take anything away from John. John can be alittle rough around the edges some time and tough to deal with but in the end you will be happy you bought a Superboat. Mine is now 10 years old and has some power in it and has no sign of any stress cracks. In this economy superboat is still making boats. True sign of a great boat. Thats more than I can say about fountain rite now.

One of the main reasons I went with a superboat was because of all the posts of builds Rick has done over the years, the guy builds boats like a rock, answers every ridiculouos question I have and you can tell, enjoys building the boats

I still say a superboat reality show would make big money!:evilb:

Superbabi I have a Troy Denis built 502 roller motor , it pushes my Pantera { heavy without steps } 80MPH GPS with 50 gal and two people !
I'm hoping I'll still see 80 in the Y2K { lighter with steps } and I'll be good , Till somebody passes me then we'll see !

Superbabi 10-30-2009 09:49 AM

Are you looking for a Y2K with or without a motor ???

OCCJoe 10-30-2009 10:04 AM

Either way , the original plan was to buy JC's and pull the 496 and set it on the floor . But if I have to i'll buy without motor !

z.zuperboat 10-30-2009 11:30 AM

So you have a motor. I would decide now on how fast you want to go. Not all 30,s are built the same. Some are built old school and not rated for big HP, others are. I think the difference is coring. Cored boats are stronger and cost more. Maybe FX can elaborate more. I know a few years back John had some special going for like 50k you could get a new boat, I know that 50k boat is not built the same as Garys Superbaby.

krakmeup 10-30-2009 11:56 AM

Let's see, I hear JC has a new Y2K w 496 for mid $60's, no trailer. I had a similar tough time suggesting a price for my '05 w496.

I offered it at $50 w trailer, nice stereo, and solid history. The used 496 is worth anywhere from $5-12K, making mine a bargain, if you want to come to Texas to get it (and I've even offered to tow it to the NE before Turkey-day). The Y2K is still the best bang out there in its size class, no doubt. Good luck in your endeavors - boaters and go-fast enthusiasts are known for their devotion and opiniions about what they own, but a good friend once told me:

I know you love that boat, but does it love you back?

Think about it and decide what you want for your water conditions and be sure to really think about how much time you want to spend in the boat rather than working in the boat.

Good Luck!

When I came and looked at John's I told him I was planing on uping the HP to the 650-750 range . He said that it would be fine and that he had people all over runing big power in non race layup boats . As long as I wasn't professionally racing in it .

The boat John built for himself is not a $50,000 special.

OCC Joe, Why don't you call John and get the list price of the boat. Or better yet have him send you a quote, on his letterhead of the value of the boat with all the options.

I gave the bank a buyers contract with totals on it from John !
I think I found an easier way , I'm switching to the credit Union ! less trouble then the Wells Fargo people !

Wow, that's weird, I haven't seen senior go ballistic and go off on something since, wait, the last time i talked to him. It's what he does, he is a miserable person ( and i only see him outside of work, i couldn't imagine working for him ). If it wasn't for the fact that he has a great product ( thats what you do ), he'd be long gone.

Superbabi that's still the plan , Coen calls me on a regular basis to make sure I didn't change my mind ! The two setbacks I had was the bank couldn't find the boat listed anywhere and the damn Tax Man must have found out I had some money saved up for a boat and he asked for it all . LOL !
I'm dead set on picking up a Y2K with in the next few weeks !

On a side note , All superboat owners know JC does not do computers. So if someone would help him get all the new boats listed and valued with NADA , and Kelly blue not only would it help new buyers and superboats business but it would increase the value of the boats that you already own !
