I remember hearing John say that the TRS boats ran better than the bravo boats. Something about the center of gravity being better.

Default 1980 Superboat

My old boat Sold it about 4 years ago $8500 - all the work was done in 2000 about 10 years ago: the "paint with superboat on the side, canvas, gas tank, gauges, and interior". Motor was a 454 with a big cam TRS drive- I had a Barry Grant marine 750 on it, ran high 50's - 60mph in nice chop and was great in rough water.

I can tell you he has no title for the trailer, I have a lein on it for mult unpaid parking tickets from the guy I sold it to and Police report. Trailer is also a 2000 Ventura double axel. See how he has mult chains through the wheels - the Nassau sherriff may come for it someday it's got a flag with PD to impound if found. I seen it in Wantagh Park a few times with out the boat but never took action.

Ouch on the speed, I run that with a 250 outboard

My Dad's old 24' Excalibur ran about 70mph with a Merc 400MCM TRS drive. I think he ran a 25p Cleaver and she did turned over 5000rpm.
Don’t know why a 24’ Super would not run 70+ with a 450HP/454 TRS and a 3 blade M+ unless the hull has a bad hook or the engine does not really make 450HP. I remember talking about this boat’s setup a couple of years back.
TRS drives are good but tougher and tougher to find parts and a shop/mechanic to work on them.
Sounds like you go for a ride and make an offer minus the trailer if you like the boat.

Hey pat no way to get it hom unless I take it from LI down the sound across the ocean to BI sound then down into newport and land t my dads house on his beach with a ramp and still no trailer. Ill cut those chains with a torch and bring it to MA and reg as home made. Im also looking at a Banana boat in Cape Cod tonight.
