I agree the solid mount is the way to go. I lost a coupler due to the merc mounts coming loose.

I didn't have any other hull issues and it had 700+ hrs. when I sold it.

I lost a drive coupler too. So did Justin in his 03...:grinser010:

It is sure crazy how the quality of my 1997 24 compared to Dave's 1998. Or maybe Dave drove his like a grandma...:lolhit:

Dammit! Whats up with that? Never had a problem with any of the merc engine mounts coming loose in my stuff- yet:party-smiley-004: I really don't think any of the problems are a side to side type flex, more of a front to back thing... so the offshore mount is out. I guess you guys can tell me "told you so" if I end up having problems with it.

Outside stringer is gonna be sandwiched and look alot like the inner in thickness...

Here are some more pics of the work in progress:

DON'T THINK SO! Out of those 700+ hours, 350 were spent in the air! :drink:

That mods will sure make the boat stronger. There goes your "light weight" hull...:drink:

That's a lot of hours Dave...:drink:
I don't think I have that much time on my last 4 boats during the last 12-13 years.
Maybe I'm harder on stuff than most, maybe not, but I broke the stringers in both the Donzis I owned as well as the Superboat. Didn't break a stringer in my Pantera but the glass wrap over one of the stringers did peal away from the hull and need to be fixed.
The only two boats I've owned that I haven't had to fix the glass in some structural way are a 1978 Cig and the boat I have now, knock on wood. The Cig was an over built tank and I have not abused my Velocity to date.

:lolhit: I'm not worried about weight at this point... anyways she can afford to put on a few pounds.

The outside stringer reinforcement is extended as far as he can reach under the floor. Looks beefy enough from what I've seen so far
