Great News Tripps!!!
We took our boat to Block Island. Boy the waves were big. If we take too many more of those trips my wife may let me buy a bigger boat soon.

Hey Peconic, No way to slow nature down. Only speed it up.
My sister in-law had her baby on the 4th. I had threatened to take her for a boat ride if she did have her before the weekend. No way my wife would have gone to Block without seeing the new baby. Good luck with that new ride! We need to hear all about it.

In that case, I recommend daily trips to Block ... All joking aside, going from CT to Block through the race can get real nasty, esp in a 21. I'd go via Plum & Montauk, even take the back side of Shelter if the weather is a snotty.

Someone tell herb that kismet has a hotel there, daveM stayed there last year, there is a hotell right on route 109,south of southern state parkway as you come into babylon,I'll try to get the name and post it. As for the main site ,I think we will have to use the state park, just west of the bridge in the inlet. My friend went there sunday and there is plenty of room for 50 boats and it was MT The beach called sorethumb was packed,no room. Now that My boat is in,I can check it out better. I say any time is good ,I'll be out around 1.00 saturday, and for the weekend. tripps

Hey Peconic & tripps,
We sunk behind Fisher's Island for part of the trip and that helps. I have gone by route of Mantauk before too. I've done the trip in both my 18' and 20' Donzi too. I have found that traveling in the morning works best if there is no fog. I did see a 21' Superboat from RI out there, and my 24' does do fine even in 4 to 6 footers. Put the tabs down and take your time.

Absolutely. It usually is like a mirror in the morning. Sometimes, after pulling an all-nighter, I see it getting light outside, I walk down to the dock, listen to the birds wake up, see the glassy water, and I think: "WTF! Let's get the keys!"

Hey Peconic,
I hope you planning an all-nighter for Superfest.
I may come down Friday night and stay at my wife's cousin's house in Ocean Side. I don't know how close that is, but I'll start Friday night too.

Patrick: Oceanside? I'd say it's about 20 - 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Oceanside is near Rockville Center, about two thirds from Babylon to JFK.

Not planning any all-nighters for Superfest, but planning an all-nighter at Superfest!

With any luck, we'll have "White Trash" in the water this weekend for testing. It might arrive at Superfest without a cabin and other non-essentials, but hey. Adding stuff just slows her down ...
