I bought an ancor shade and didn't like it on the last boat. It kept collapsing and not great if the wind blows so this boat I put a bimini on . Also can drive with it up and it was a must when I took my newborn out. Just another of my wifes "must haves" when I bought it. By the way to ease getting up on the deck on mine I put a small folding stainless step towards the corner in front of the pass. seat and thru bolted it into the cabin it works fine and not to obtrusive.

Wink Re: 24P Bravo, too much port roll

Found this thread while doing a search for roll or leaning conditions. I have a 24 ft Jaws (It is similar to the 24 pantara & superboat) 6'6" beam. It has a 468ci bbc pushing around 500hp with dual ram latham steering and stellings extention box with 280s K-planes. I was running a left hand Miarge prop that had been reworked to 24 pitch. It ran 74 on gps @ 5700 rpm with ver slight lean to the starboard side under heavy load.
I installed a right hand 4 blade hydromotive Q-IVx 23p this weekend and it now has a much greater roll to port side. It can be corrected with the tabs but it drags some speed in doing it. My midrange cruise is much better and I can trim the drive to the moon without prop blowing out this is allowing the boat to run 74 gps @ 5500 rpm. I really don't like the roll to port under power. This hull is very finicky about weight distribution, Im used to that but this new prop seems to be excessive. Anyone have some idea's?

My first idea is: I either need a thinner girlfriend or ride alone both of these have there draw backs. :-)

Funny, my boat is best balance w/ my 42lb 5 1/2yr old daugher sitting next to me!
Otherwise w/ my Mirage 3blade i lean to port a bit. Mild tabs corrects it.

Your hull my have a slight hook in it.
That may be why the boat had a lefty in the first place...
Try a lefty 4 blade.

I have similar problems, i have a 24 pantera and it came with a lefty 23 mirage, the owner told me the other props that he tried lean to the port so he stayed with this, i now have zzsuperboat 25 mirage which is a righ prop and i just put it in the boat for the very first time saturday, i kinda lean sometimes, i had 4 adults and i took it to 70 gps with half tank of fuel at 4900 rpms, and no lean at all when i ran it that time, the lake was really rough so i dont know if it lean because of the wind of because of the prop, it did not lean all the time though, im kinda puzzled by this.
Any opinions in what 4 blade to try, its either a bravo 1 or a hydromotive quad VI and what pitch should i start with, i have 475hp 502 with stainless marine exaust.
Thanks in advance

I thought I wrote a reply yesterday???
Anyway, Migara422, I think a 26p Bravo I would be the best 4 blade prop for your boat...
