Hugh, I got the unfinished cabin, i do have the seat and vberth cushions, lights, and carpet on the floor but no headliner. I wanted to keep the weight down. The ride is awesome!! Very smooth, except that one day i was out in 10 footers off the sound. You can reach me at (508) 414-6229 in the evenings, ask for Scott.
z. zuperboat, The trailer is a Rocket Trailer out of Miami Florida and I had to have John order it special because he was going to put a steel one like his under it and I wanted the aluminum one for the weight savings and the corrosion resistance. His trailer is one season old and he told me it is already rusting. Mercury did the lab job on the prop, in fact it is the prop off John's 21 IO demo boat. We tried a few props before I picked up the boat and this one worked the best. I am however going to try one of Merc's new 5 blades when they make them in a 26 pitch, hopefully this year.
Dave M I am not sure of the RPMs I'll have to pay more attention the next time I have it out and I can let you know.

sb30,
Your boat is awesome! 70mph with a 496mag is tremendous too.
I don't know how you will be able to stay stock for 6 years? I can't seem to go one year without messing with something...
We need to hook up this summer. I would love to get a closer look.
Dave,
I believe that the 496mag has a bit more power than a 454mag. Horsepower ratings can be misleading; horsepower is only a theoretical calculation from torque at a given rpm...
A 496mag is rated 375hp at 4600rpm while a 454mag tops 385hp at 5000rpm. The max torque of a 496mag is well over 500ftlbs and a 454mag is under 450ftlbs. The 496mag has a vary small cam that can be exchanged for the MagHo cam to bring the horsepower curve peek to 5000rpm. The 496MagHo is power house with over 500ftlbs of torque and 425+peek HP...
Seems to be a bit of a rip-off to me that Merc charges like $4000 more for just a hotter cam and different ECU calibration...
SS930,
It's going to crack 50°F this weekend. You could have that jet boat out dodging the icebergs.
I know of two jet skiers that are planning to brave the 33°F water tomorrow.

Hey tripps,
If you plan something at the Shinnecock canal I'll meet ya.
Also, Greenport and Sag harbor are only another 20-25min... for ZZ and Jacap maybe 15min.
I don't think there are too many better spots than Claudio's in Greenport.
