What seasonal prep will be done to your motor before it's dropped back in the Y2K?

noli it takes Chuck at Typhoon an hour or so to get the motor out of the Y2K, no winterizing needed when she is stored indoors ( heated shop ). Just a better way to take care of my Ron Potter 800.:grinser010:

noli 02-20-2010 05:43 PM

I never thought of doin' that. Epecially the EFIs have high pressure fuel lines, can never really winterized those. And there will be no need to fog the cylinders as the engine will be stored indoors.

Also gives you a chance to look over the engine compartment and do any needed work. Gives Typhoon a chance to look over the engine while its out. Touch up on the engine mounts with fresh paint.

Awesome. When do you think Typhoon will begin putting your RP engine back in?

Fun Run !! I better get on the phone with the interior guy .

Jigsaw89 02-21-2010 09:19 AM

Hey Gary,
Your engine looks bad azz! I'm chomping on the bit in the hopes of this winter ending soon. I know we share the sentiment that it's been too long since being seated at the helm enjoying the Barnegat Bay, Great South Bay, etc. Florida weather hasn't been much better.
Best regards,
Dan

I am thinking one Sat we start at Frank and Dicks for Bfast, then around Captree, out Fire Island Inlet, over to Jones Inlet, back under Meadowbrook/Wantagh bridges, wind up at JC's for a bbq, then over to Kismet late night.......could be a good time, and it is the 40th anniversary of superboat coming up if I remember correctly

Hi Dan, this winter is sucking the life force out of me. Did a little boating on the Barngat Bay today. Hope to see you and Brook soon.

z.zuperboat 02-23-2010 10:10 AM

Gary if the fun run is a go and you want to bring your boat down you are welcome to use my trailer if needed. Just put on new brakes at the end of last year.

When all of the SBs are running out, how about getting Freeze Frame to come and do an arial photo shoot. The cost will be divided amongs all of the SB owners who show up with their boat. Each owner will have their own copy of their boat with arial shots, and maybe a video of the whole clan running.

Say FF charges $1500 to do it, divide that by 20 folks, everyone coughs up $75.

Plus JC will be very happy. Then submit all the pics to Powerboat mag.

Just a thought.

z.zuperboat 05-01-2010 06:36 AM

Dammm Gary 2 hours already!!! I spent thursday dewinterizing adjusting valves reinstalling exhaust. I sure wish Eikert would have given me an answer on those new 2 peice valve covers. To late now maybe next fall. I checked my hour meter from last year to now and being out of the water with the gas tank issue I only put 9 hrs onher last year. Friday was the final install on the new interior and deck stripes. Almost ready.

I am getting my motor next weekend so I will be out this yr. thanks for any info I have both a px5 30 and 32 b1 to start with. thanks for any info. I hope my konrad holds up.

Air Time, I am using a 5 blade maximus 30" rh. Seeing 5500-5600 @ 92-94 mph best of conditions.( lite load and a nice 1' -2' close chop). I keep a spare 31" b1 four blade, seeing 85-86 mph. For some reason my Y2K always ran best with the merc max.
Best of luck, and Lots of Fun !!!!:grinser010:
