Like we talked before, rings, bearings, and a new oil pump for the bottom end. A valve job with new spring, retainers, and locks for the heads. New gaskets and seals all around. Maybe consider having the heads ported for more efficient flow; could be worth a few more ponies without having to change anything else...

I guess Merc changed more than just the boost to make 700HP.

Pat my guy went through all the proper channels, NO MERC. UPGRADES. There is another way, but I lose all smart craft, and all the relieability to get big HP, not my idea of fun or $$$$ spent. I need to start every time and run hard for 200 + hours before a rebuild or break down. 83-84 will have to do, as Mike said in a PM, perhaps a 6 blade herring will take her to the next level.!!!!!
