Same boat 1998 tempest , Maryann changed the grahics on the hull. And yes we did go for a AWESOME RIDE !!!!! The harbor was calm, but the open ocean was really kicking up that day, easy 4'-6' footers. Maryann a former SBI racer "POUR IT ON" race team ( 30 O/B CAT ) has all the driving skills of a true PRO. The boat handled all the rough stuff just fine. We got some BIG AIR TIME in the ocean !!!!!! So let be said...............Maryann is a true SUPERBOATER !!!!! Thank you Maryann for making a great vacation even better !!!!!! Gary & Marcy

Leave it to Gary to find a superboat where ever he goes. Gary that,s the twin to my boat just has all the extras like a cabin door. John did say they made 2 tempests with the step bottom. I think Im going to have to brown nose Rick to get a cabin door this year, maybe even spring for some cushions this year.

Dan, hope all is well, we should connect next summer. I think i owe you a boat ride! We hit 76 mph, 5 people, full tank of gas, a beer/beverage cooler filled. Maryann (SCORCHER) has reported high 78-79, different props & lighter load. Handling in the calm, the boat ran beautiful, straight as an arrow, even in some 15-20 mph wind gusts, turning was clean & sharp at high speeds. In the rough, the boat, in the capable hands of Maryann, she handled flawlessly. However, I must say, in the rough, I do prefer, the single, big block with the low center of gravity & its true tracking abilities. Not to take away from any outboards, I just prefer the I/O..............PS. I like the RUMBLE of the BIG BLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :evilb: :evilb: :evilb:

Gary, thanks for sharing your opinion of Scorcher. It looks and sounds like your trip to the Bahamas was a great time!

We'll definately meet up next summer and I appreciate the offer for a ride in Superbabi! As a matter of fact, my shore house isn't too far from yours. I'm in Toms River on the same shoreline as you, but located south of the Rt. 37 bridge.

Following is a pic of my 1986 RedLine (Challenger splash) w/200 hp Yamaha dubbed 'Last Rites' that I'm sure you've seen on the bay. You have an open invite to join me for a boat ride, but I advise against it if you have a bad back!

That's Anthony's Stradale. When I last spoke with him he was anticipating delivery of his new 430! I too have a red car... and it's faster and handles better than most people anticipate. Lets face it, it sure is no prancing horse, but has embarassed a few unsuspecting 360 owners!!!

Pic was taken prior to installing Eibach ProKit Lowering Springs, Tokico HP Shocks/Struts and Urethane Suspension Bushings. Looks and handles much better now...
