Hey DAVE
Hows she running??? Hours??? Any #'s at all to report???
I just ran side by side with the yellow new style 21 SB... 75.5 on my hendheld $99.99 GPS ...& his Gaffrig GPS SPEEDO is recalling 78.3...now that means my best of 78.4 may really have been over 80??? I gotta run two GPS's next time now. BASH may have some bigger #'s than expected. I think with the right prop & all...you should break the 80 mark...

Your mystery guy has the boat that was in the rigging shop for awhile , yes i think yellow and blue stripe, john had a blower motor from mrd in it originaly claimed it would do 100 mph but never got it dialed in , John stripped the boat and sold it bare hull, this guy bought it and had mrd build the same motor as mine 509/blowershop250 he wasnt happy with speeds (86mph) and the motor blew with very few hours (less than 20) the same thing happened to my mrd 509 it sucked a valve at 20 hours! I am not pickin on mrd its just the facts! He had zul rebuild it with dual quads instead of single dominater and it now runs about 89 90. Nice guy ,met him at the Gull a few times.
Faster dammit ,
if you check back a few threads on Y2K props, I have found that a deeper drive height gave me more speed , and better bow lift, I know we all have been taught deeper is slower but trail and error have proven for my Y2K deeper is fastewr and better handling

My 1997 straight V, 415HP/502MagMPI, Bravo I 28p prop, best of 76.4mph.
The newer hull not only has the step, but it has a bit of pad and larger lifting strakes. I doubt the step does anything as these boat dance on the last 3-4ft of the hull. The pad and larger strakes likely do help.
T and D, What motor rpm you getting? I'm at about 4800...

I at 4800 with an occasionally hit on the rev limiter.
