How's a 572 ci gonna run?

Tom,
The the only OSO guy that has/had a 30' with an extension box is Mike (Zuperboat).
His boat was originally rigged by MRD with a Neutral box and short drive.
Get Mike on the phone. I know his boat was vary sensitive to prop changes.
Did you ask JC if he has rigged one of his 30s with an extension box before?
Knowing that these long narrow boats need "BOW LIFT", I would not want a +3" box...
Remember professor Jcap's experiences...

I hear ya Pat. I wonder if Mike's X is the same as mine is going to be? Is it possible my hole will be lower?
Jc said he put an Merc ITS on a boat recenlty and it was too deep in the water at the standard X.

Bad news for Faster. It looks as I may not get the 572 in until the boat gets to Calif. John is convincing me to have it installed locally so if there's any headaches I can deal with it face to face. He's going to set the Merc in there for now to rig the transom assembly and all. Maybe he's right, but I was really looking forward to Rick testing the boat for me!

I am buying the Merc 375 engine and drive package from John. My 572 builder was shipping the custom engine to John for installation with the merc transom assembly and XR drive.
The 375 was going to be shipped to my builder as a trade so he can put it in a customers boat as a repower.
Now I guess i'll wait till the boat gets here to swap it out. Does that make sense?

Tom,
The up side, your going to save $$ in shipping two engines cross country. Down side, you will have to pull the 496 out and install your 572...
I can see JC's side though. He doesn't want the responsibility of screwing up your high $$ engine.
Your first ride is going to be at 65-70mph rather than 85-90mph; that is a bummer...
