If it were me, and hopefully some day soon it will be, I would have John rig with the same X that he did with Krackmeup's boat...
Higher is not going to be faster. Fasteddie already proved that with his testing.
Good Luck Guys!

So, any thoughts on diesel applications in the 30'?

Re: Hot Boat Article

Now why would you want that?
We're not talking about an off-shore fishing boat.

No fishing, but imagine a race from Miami to New York and an engine application that doesnt break. Some of these diesels are only a few hundred pounds more than the gas engines.

There are some diesels out there that could be fast and reliable, HOWEVER, it will take alot more money of course. Me, I have to have a screaming normal classic american iron. Well, if anyone want's to wedge a Ferrari powerplant in mine I'm ok with that. :D

How about an all aluminum Viper V10?

Remember, when I went shorter I also changed to a Sportmaster Lower which is slower to begin with. Not exactly apples to apples. I will try a spacer this summer, I can't see how it will help but what the heck. I'm Running 83 now.

You guys say that a diesel application is way more money than gas, but how much more? In the long run it seems like the operating costs are lower for diesel, but would a diesel that would put out comparable speed to a gas engine cost 25% more, 50% more? If a gas setup costs $35k for engine and drive are you saying that a comparable diesel would cost $45k, $55k?
