You know diesels are torque monsters, they really show there stuff in heavier applications. Don't know what benefits other than reliability your gonna gain...they smell, certainly dont sound as good. We all buy these as go-fast boats and you wont have the top end. and certainly heavier

There's two Ilmore V10 packages at the LA boat show distributed through Teague Marine. One is 550hp the other 625 hp. These are set up with a TCM modified Xr drive ready to dop in. I like them, but why pay more for less power???

Doesn't Volvo penta make a 7.4 L dei

iesel ? I remember reading a article where they had a shootout between a gas mercruiser and a Volvo Penta dei

iesel. They were about the same in speed, both used Bravo drives, But the diesel got better fuel economy.
We never did a diesel application yet.

and the 496 package is around 20K cheeper ;) And it is pretty economical. Look at Krac's posts about ecomony.

LOL, not quite, but I sure haven't bought much fuel! Now have 48 hrs on the hour meter, and have filled the tank twice I think?? Maybe +1/2 also. Still seeing 2.5-2.8mpg!!!
