630 is not enough to catch Jim.I went over this years budget and I didnt see an air pump on it. I will have the drive spacers on thursday.Going to start with the 2 inch first putting the X at 3 below.I have no idea of what 2 expect,Im hoping the trim button will actually do something but through water. The bravo used 10 notches of trim, the speedy only 2.

I read soo much about extension boxes, and stepping the drives off the transom. Wouldn't you be able to step off the drive and keep the length you have and probably pick up some MPH. It might even give you more bow lift.

Hey FX,
Speak to Zup, he'll give the best info on how the boat will react to the box. I think he found that she still needed a bow lifting prop.
Knowing what professor Jcap and ZZ have experienced with there 85+mph 30s.
I would rig Faster's and Oh-Zone's boats with out changing the X from your new standard on the Y2X. Keep the prop shaft 3" below and the extension will give the added bow lift needed to run 85+... :eureka:

Fellas:

Any thoughts on installing a diesel application into a 30?

FX I was thinking the same as Pat. John was thinking of raising the x 1in. with the box... what are your thoughts?

Hey Gary,
Remember Jcap added a 2" spacer to his drive to get his boat to run over 90mph.
And Fasteddie lost 2-mph when he tried a shorter sportmaster lower.

Yes, I read that post. I was Just on the phone with John... he says that he believes the standard outdrive (shaft centerline) is at least 3in below the bottom in his words.. and still feels I should go up 1in with the box. He seemed to be fuzzy on the exact #? Before I make the transom cut Im gonna find out for sure.

Re: Hot Boat Article

Good info. I always prefer the drive to be a little deep instead of at the upper end. It just makes better lift, turning, midrange, planing ect... I'll give up 2 mph for everything else being better. I agree on 1" rise with the 12" set back. If it was my cat then maybe 3".
