Re: 36' Y2k

Maybe John would sell a 36' mold and license the Superboat name to another separate party?

SUPERBASH 02-14-2005 03:13 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Re: 36' Y2k

Bash,
Cigarette came out with a narrow ( 8' ) 45' boat. Only 8" wider than ours. theres runs 121 with a pair of merc 900's. Their staggered since the hull is so narrow. A 36 Y2K would be awesome in the ocean in the snotty stuff.

Rick

Re: 36' Y2k

Whos going to build that boat! john or JR himself. With that motor so far foward its going to need a bow thruster pointing down to lift the nose.Just kidding. If its for JR im sure it will be pretty trick.

Re: 36' Y2k

< Guess who ;)

FX10 02-21-2005 05:54 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

I'll have all the bugs out of it. One motor on the back and the other as close to it as possible. And it will work.

Superbabi 02-21-2005 06:04 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Rick With The Staggered Motors The Mid Ship Motor Would Need Some Type Of 4 Point Motor Mt. ?????

FX10 02-21-2005 06:07 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Yup, with a drive shaft. I'll stretvh yours if yo uwant. ;) For my buddy......................

Oh-zone How Are You Doing ?? You Have Been Quiet ?? Anyway I Know You Like The A. Drive. I Also Think It's One Great Drive. I Would Love An A. Drive In A Superboat !!!

Re: 36' Y2k

I think that would be beyound SICK !!!!!!! Are you that sick ;)

Re: 36' Y2k

With all of this talk about stretching boats, I have been thinking about how to feed mine some grown hormones...

How about a 12" extension box and 380 K-planes in place of the 280s?
Would the boat handle the rough like a boat a foot longer?

FASTERDAMITT 02-21-2005 08:09 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Sounds good to me Pat.

Re: 36' Y2k

OK Then...
If I don't have the $$ for a 30' hull before the 2006 season, that's what we're going to do... :evilb:

Superbabi 02-22-2005 04:18 AM

Re: 36' Y2k

Pat, Great Idea, Are You Serious, How Much $$$$$ Do You Think To Pull Off ????

z.zuperboat 02-22-2005 07:04 AM

Re: 36' Y2k

Pat remember that moving the drive back 12 inches will lower the X an inch. The plus 3 boxes from imco need the motor to be moved up 3 inches. You still need steering wings and rams.Between parts and labor I think you would be better buying a good hydromotive 5 blade or a 6 blade herring.

Pat McPherson 02-22-2005 08:01 AM

Re: 36' Y2k

Good points ZZ...
I would not want to raise the motor up so I guess I would need a shorter lower.
I do have dual piston Imco steering, but I'm not sure if the rams are the right length.
I believe that the 380 K-planes will go right in place of my 280s.
Project would be for next winter, so just knocking around the idea... :drink:

SUPERSTITIOUS 02-22-2005 05:23 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Fx...Here ya go getting me thinking again....
Do you think the 30 with a single Arneson would carry the bow ok?
As I said JC likes to scare me with the talk that one minute you want a cheap boat and then the talk of Arnesons and all the $$$ and R&D to do it.
Arnesons are cheaper than outdrives but modifying the mold etc. Again as I've stated the dialing in time. which I dont have alot of...Still in my dreams I'd love to set it up with the big A.

Baja;
Yeah, Ive been busy around here. My boat was picked up over the weekend, My bro dropped off his pristene 68 Mustang GT-390 off here before his wife does somethin crazy to it...Things are getting ugly there....And of course I had to take for a nice rip! before putting it in storage! And went to see mom in Sag Harbor sunday, shes not doin so well either so needless to say there have been a bunch of diversions...

Superbabi 02-22-2005 05:50 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Oh-zone I Hear Ya On The Big A Drive. I Went Through Same Thing With John. He Does Have A Valid Point, Where Would Get Any Warranty Or Maintenance ????

FASTERDAMITT 02-22-2005 06:04 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

OH,
I'll park that 68 GT next to my 67 until the heat settles! :D

z.zuperboat 02-22-2005 07:29 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Ok 36 Is A Bit On The Large Side How About Making It A 33? Just Long Enough For Another Motor And One More Step.the 30 Already Has Room In Front Of The Motor So 3ft Is About The Number.any Way To Make One Mold With An Insert For Both Boats?

Superbabi 02-22-2005 07:45 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Zz.....33' Would Be Cool !! I Thing At This Point John Would Probably Stretch The 34' Twin To A 38' Big "v"....

Pat McPherson 02-24-2005 08:42 AM

Re: 36' Y2k

Back to my 24' with extension box idea:
I was poking around Imco's web sight yesterday...
The extension box, drive shaft, wing plates, and... adds up to about $2K.
That's is the cost if my steering rams will work.
The K-plane 380 plates are around $800...
Shorter drive lower $?
I am not likely to buy new parts, so if I can accumulate everything used for around $2500, I think it would be worth a try...

SUPERSTITIOUS 02-24-2005 10:14 AM

Re: 36' Y2k

Go for it...A 24 SB s-t-r-e-t-c-h....

I am also considering a drive shower for the xr drive...I know the xr has a finned billet cap. Who makes a nice billet or stainless shower for that application?

FASTERDAMITT 02-24-2005 11:15 AM

Re: 36' Y2k

Pat, you could also save some money at CP Peformance or someone in alot of discount pricing.
