Bajababi

Re: 36' Y2k

JC has a 34' hull , so your idea is not all that far fetched...
Make a new deck Y2K style, add an integrated swim platform, and you've got your 36' Y2K... :drink:
I think the 7' beam is too narrow for anything larger than the 30'.
Man, winter sucks... It's Friday night and we're sitting in front of computer screens...
As if we don't get enough of it during the day at work...

Re: 36' Y2k

I was talking with John Jr. last week about a Y2k with staggered 525's. Move the gas tank forward, and use some of the cockpit for the other engine. The race model has a covered cockpit anyway. It would be BEYOND animal !!!

FX10 02-11-2005 08:42 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Cigarrett has their 45'Maximus, which is only 8'wide. The Y2k is 7'4" . It could be done. It would be an awesome boat in the rough stuff at 36'.

What would be better, staggered twins or a single 1000HP hooked to a # VI dry sump?

FX10 02-11-2005 08:52 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

single would be sweet (less $$$) BUT staggered would ROCK !!

FX10 02-12-2005 09:43 AM

Re: 36' Y2k

Actually it wouldn't be a hard tooling job for the molds. Stretch the deck at the forward section of the engine compartment, add 6' to hull. Hmmmmmmmmm
Actually I was thinking staggered 1300 sterlings. Oh My God !!!!!

Re: 36' Y2k

Hell at work they call me s-t-r-e-t-c-h cause Im always stretching on trade-ins to make the car deal so why not.... I shouldnt be saying this but I also took out a home equity line as well when I refi'd. The real problem will be that on the 30 the tongue of the trailer is almost gonna be in the road as it is.

Re: 36' Y2k

Gary - ROFLMAO = Rolling On Floor Laughing My A$$ Off...

Referring to the Bowlift additions that Bash posted, that should lift abow easily.... but then I can't say anything.......

The 36? What's the trade in on a SB with 48 hrs? On second thought, I'm pretty happy. For now.

:D

FX10 02-12-2005 05:41 PM

Re: 36' Y2k

Gary,
We can stretch a 30'. But for this application, new moldds would have to be made. My estimate for the labor and materials is around 150 K. So I don't see it happening anytime soon, unless there's a BIG calling for them to justify the tooling costs.

Rick

Re: 36' Y2k

I had this same idea last year.It would be like a small outerlimits.Realy cool.John said no way,He already has a 34. And no plan for anything bigger. If he,s not going to make a Y2K deck for the 24 I would think the 36 is out.

Superbabi 02-13-2005 05:27 AM

Re: 36' Y2k

DiamondPerformance 02-13-2005 09:41 AM
