PAT, YOU WERE GETTING 67 MPH WITH 310 HP IN 24' SB, NOT BAD I COULD JUST ABOUT GET 60 MPH WITH 23' BAJA & SAME MOTOR. SO YOU WILL END UP WITH ABOUT 410 HP , SO I'M SURE YOU WILL SEE 10 MPH GAIN. SO IF YOU BUMPED TO Y2K ( AND I KNOW YOU ARE ) WOULD YOU USE SAME 502/410 HP ????? GARY

Gary & Storm,
The first year I had my 24 Super I bolted in the 7.4 stock.
She ran 65 or so at 4400rpm with a 25p Mirage plus.
Last year I modified the 7.4 with a bigger cam, ported heads, and Stainless Marine exhaust. She ran pretty good at 68 with a labbed 26p Bravo 1 and a best of 70 with the 25p Mirage plus.
Then I had a timing set failure so the stock heads and cam went back on/in. The engine that is in the boat now is basically a stock 310HP/7.4MPI with Stainless Marine exhaust.
The boat still runs well at 66-67 at 4500-4600 with the labbed 26p Bravo 1 four blade.
With the 502, I am hoping to spin a 28p Bravo 1 at 4800 engine rpm and see 75+ on my GPS...

Gary,
If/When I buy a 30' Super I would like to use my 502. But, if I get a lot more $$ for my 24' with the 502 vs. the 454, I build a 500HP stroker out of my 454...

You should have 75 any day of the week with the 502. I hoping that with 425 HP I can turn a 28 Bravo at 5K. I ran the numbers on propcalc using my old slip numbers and with the 28P at 5K RPMS I came up with a theoretical speed of 79.7 I think that might be wishful thinking though. Probably 77-78.

Pat -

Try a Mirage 29P. Not a plus, just a Mirage. You'll be in the low 80's.

Post more pictures as you get closer. Looks good in the kitchen!!!

I never tried a regular Mirage on my boat but I know a Mirage + is NOT the right prop for my boat. What's the difference with the Mirage + vs. Mirage.

Dave,
I believe that the older style Mirage has a little less blade area and less cup than the +.
I too have not run a Mirage only the Mirage +.
I ran a 23p Mirage on my 1987 Donzi Minx and did like it.

Kirk,
I know JO likes the Mirage on his 24' Panteras.
Dave M has the step/pad 24' Super, I have a straight V so my boat is more like the Pantera.
I do like a 4 blade better, especially in the rough.
We'll see how she runs with the 4 blade first; then maybe try a 3???
