REDEATH, How is it that the Larry Smith boat is $ 20,000.00 less than the Sutphen. My understanding is the Sutphen is way under $ 100,000.00 Good luck on the one you choose.

I wish it was Jons. The boat itself (WITHOUT engines ,staggered headers, tailpipes ,transmissions ,props, tiebar, rigging)is 70,000.00 FIRM.Add the items listed that it needs to complete the project (going rebuilt on the engines ,not new)and you are close to 150,0000.00.The ASKING price on the Scarab Iis 129,000.00.

Freds configuration was front and back stand ups plus race hatches. The new owner changed this to bench seat in back, standard. hatches.I cant do anything for another few weeks but i am leaning toward the Scarab (if it still is available). As i said before my loyality is definately toward the Sutphen, BUT 150,000.00 is a lot to pay (esp considering the present boating market)for a 13 year old Sutphen that is currently not even rigged.

The broker for the Sutphen called today offering to possibly structure the sales contract based on some sort of test ride ect clause. The bottom line on the entire situation is of course MONEY (specifically providen both boats are IN BASICALLY the same overall condition) is the Sutphen worth 20 grand more than the Scarab)
