My old boat was an 1982 Ocean Pacer, which is the model name for the 30 footer. When I got it it had 520 hp small blocks that were well on their way to self destructing. I helped it along by pushing her as fast as I could and the boat ran 92 with these engine for about 30 seconds....then boom. I re rigged it with some more mild small blocks which made her run in the high 70's. Fun boat. Could get a little loose if you weren't paying attention. It had arneson surface drive which were very cool.

The boat sold and is now in Scituate, MA just outside of Boston.

Sweet Magnum by the way!

Here's some pics of how the dash looked originally and how it looked when I sold it. You can pick up ocean pacer every once in awhile but not many with the full race setup. Ocean Pacer is just the model name for thr 30 foot Sutphen, race or pleasure.

There was a 30 Sutphen race setup for sale on the upper east coast about a month ago. It is call the Execution Express. Boat looked pretty rough and the engine and drives were pulled out of it. I think they were asking $25000 for it. Seemed a little high to me for its condition.

well your boat was very nace, what would the price range be for a 30ft, if i was to find one i would do the race seats and dash if it did not have it, should be able to do a dash like that.

how did you find it with that set up as you cant move around much for pleasure use, did you find that you would have liked two bolster and the rear couch set up with sun pad??????
More pics i love seeing them thanks again

what are you looking for now

That setup was tight. You had to climb over everthing to get around but it was nice while you were running. You can find these boats anywhere from $20,000 to $45,000. It just depends on how much work you need to do to them.

I believe that Great Adventure can be bought. It is a little newer and a foot longer. She has the best of both worlds...three man bolster in the front and bench seat in the back. I personally saw the boat a month ago and it was very nice and sounded good. PM Lucky Strike if you are serious about buying a Sutphen or you can call on the Execution Express if you can find where it is for sale.

I'm looking for another nice old school boat that calls my name when i see it. Haven't found it yet.
