Where is glen cove?

Is there agood spot to put in?

I might be up for trailering down that way for a good event.

Dave911:

Our 21SSX will have a seperate throttle and shifter box. Although if someone wants one in any model that wouldn't be a problem. That's why we are a custom boat distributor and Rich is a custom boat builder. We aim to please the customer.

jeff...
looks like a few of us are probably rafting in bridgeport to watch the sights for the glen cove run...any ramp near new haven will do the trick....
glen cove is in western LI...north side..means throggs neck to get there unless you take the ferry:(

Full Throttle 525 09-11-2008 06:58 PM

Guys:

You can put in at Milford's ramp or the Housatonic ramp.

Ron

ChristianGott 09-11-2008 07:17 PM

thanks ron..
where's the housy ramp?
jeff, if you want to meet in branford, maybe we'll get to run together ONCE this season...

The public Housy ramp is in Devon(Stratford/Milford line). There are no docks and the current can be a hassle depending on the tides, so be careful!

30ctsutphen 09-12-2008 08:07 AM

Well I was gonna meet you in Branford but Gladhe8er made the housy ramp sound so good I am going there.LOL

Just kidding that ramp sounds awful!

I would like to meet up in branford that sounds like it would would be a good run. how long of a run is it from there?

Are there docks etc at the branford ramp?

I am hitting the river today in portland if anyone is out.
Weather permitting.

Just got back from Lake champlain. The guys there were very cool and seem to like sutphens alot.

Check out the champlain 08 thread.
I have pics of our old 30 my 20 and my 26 at lake champlain over there.

I should have you move the 30 pic over here C, since so many people have asked about the boat that got totalled in the past.

I use the Stratford town ramp on the Housy closer to the Sound. The current is so bad sometimes that it swamps the channel buoys. The ramp I use is nice and it has docks, but coming into the ramp can get hairy. You have to jam the boat in there at a good clip and then throw it in reverse. It makes you an expert at docking in a hurry.

Sounds like there should be at least 4-5 boats watching the poker runners come into Bport. Maybe we make a little run together afterwards? There is still a chance that I may actually do the run...

ChristianGott 09-12-2008 06:36 PM

branford has a mild current. it's on a tidal river. one guy can easily launch his or her boat solo, even if the ramp is busy..they seem to yield to performance boats, like surfers in a line up...'course there's always that "one" . been using the ramp for 32 years....dockage is limited, ramp is old, but late september should serve us fine...
the run to BPT is only about 30 min @ 40ish...

30ctsutphen 09-12-2008 06:45 PM

30 minutes damn I could be at claudios drinkin by then.LOL

So when is the actual glenn cove run?
I searched it and found more dates to this thing than you could imagine.

I never know what the hell I am doing until the day before anyway but it would be nice to know.

Maybe my brother will break out the fountain and make the run down too.

30ctsutphen 09-12-2008 06:53 PM

I just got a call about a frank Marata poker run tomorrow?

Anyone know about this event.

Gladhe8er 09-12-2008 07:10 PM

Glen Cove is next Saturday. They leave Glen Cove at noon I believe, so the first boats should start cruising in around 12:30. No idea about Frank Marata.

ChristianGott 09-12-2008 07:24 PM

he's the car guru...maybe they have a cruise going on?

30ctsutphen 09-12-2008 07:56 PM

C, check your cell messages.

Is this new 21SS similiar to the 210 you guys were selling a few years ago? About 3 or 4 years ago I came close to purchasing a 210 outboard version with a merc hanging off the back, beautiful boat (white w/ blue accent stripe sitting on an eagle trailer), I still have the sell sheet in pdf format you sent me!

Full Throttle 525 09-18-2008 09:22 PM

The 21SS is a completely redesigned boat and longer than that model. More sculpted deck, 2 1/2 inches higher which means a deeper cockpit, integrated race fairing and a few more goodies.

I will post some pics of the 21SSX. It is absolutely awesome.

DjMikeyC 09-18-2008 09:38 PM

Are these being built in Florida?

SOX 09-21-2008 02:24 PM

Looking Good!! I can't wait to see the 277. That blue with silver would be a nice combo.

Any chance of comming down to Atlantic City boat show this winter with some bigger models?

Rob

The 21ssx looks great guys hope to see some water pics soon

Best regards, Chris

dave911 09-21-2008 04:20 PM

Looks great, but VERY similar to the '07 Donzi / Shelby 22. :party-smiley-004:
http://www.donzimarine.com/assets/se...i_22Shelby.pdf

30ctsutphen 09-21-2008 09:59 PM

shame on you dave, you know that donzi is very similar to the sutphen.

Ahh How soon they forget.LOL

You need an infusion of sutphen power!!

the donzi and the sutphen 20 were always very similar boats.

The raise deck is gonna be a hit I would think since that was one of the few drawbacks I found to my 20.

Any one know how the hulls compare on the two brands?
It would be nice to be able to tell people the differences between the two and of course why the sutphen is SOOOOO much better of a boat.

Go buy your rum runner back quick.

Well...the ladies were all over our boat...!! :D

30ctsutphen 09-21-2008 11:19 PM

WTF now I am really bent I got there so late.

First they didnt let us in because we were late( Im always late), then my cell phone got knocked out of the truck and we had to drive all the way back to find it in the parking lot. Now I find out I missed that!

Why werent they in your truck when I saw you guys?
Rons windows were tinted pretty dark maybe he was the lucky one.

Well at least me a christian got to beat on our boats for a while that day.

Heres a quick video of christians rum runner from earlier that day.
The videos not that great, but I was trying to drive the boat and video at the same time.

C, just wrap it in aluminum.
My brothers fountian has an aluminum fairing and it looks great.

Makes the boat in my opinion.

The best part is its easy to remove if you want to go back to the windshield look.

ChristianGott 09-22-2008 02:45 PM

jeff..
know anyone who does that work?
found out why heather was so sketchy with the times on sat...she was organizing 20+ people for my suprise 40th
b-day dinner....boy WAS i suprised! i think the whole day ranks up there with one of my best in 40..
thanks for the run!
see you soon
c

30ctsutphen 09-22-2008 06:11 PM

wow, C thats cool.

You have a great wife to do something like that for you.

It was a pretty good day.

I do know some people who could do the aluminum wrap windshield for you.

I think it looks cool too and it doesnt add a whole lot of weight to the boat which is cool.
