I was told that my 1977 30 Sutphen Ocean Pacer was the first one from the mold. I purchased the boat from Kenny Misch of Madison Ct. around 1990 and sold it around 2000.
My boat was called "The Prince" and had red sides and a white deck and bottom. It had TRS drives, a pair of small block Chevy's and S+S cleaver props. We kept the boat in Old Saybrook Ct and did most of our boating on L.I. Sound.
When sold it had a pair of ZZ3 Crate Motors. The last I heard it was owned by a guy from Middletown Ct who painted it all white.

hey op..
many, many moons ago i think you showed me your boat...you had just built a house on the east side of the CT river north of the hiway, if i recall correctly...that's about the time i looked at toasty's boat down in nj, but he didn't own it yet...
i asked sut30 if his old boat was yours because they looked real similar...
welcome to the board!

You have the right guy. My name is Pete Ceulemans and I live in East Haddam Ct.. When we first bought the boat we kept it at Ragged Rock Marina in Ol d Saybrook. At that time there were 4 Sutphens on my dock. My 30, a 30 called Red Baron, with twin Big Blocks, a 33 Outrageous called Motown Missile and another new 30 with the 425 Kaama package. Those were the good old days.
My first ride on an offshore boat was on Sammy Carabetta's 33 Outrageous in 1984....wow. It had twin Ford 465hp motors and it was the ride of my life. Over the years I was lucky to go out on another of Sam's boats, a 46 Cougar with triple big blocks called Plain Vanilla....what a show stopper.
I no longer own a boat but still make it to Key West for the World's every year. Thanks for the memories, glad to hear that you got a Sutphen too.
