Just let me know if you need any thing.

My email is [email protected]

cant beat a good set of con rods. IMHO its the most improtant part of any engine for longevity.

usually the first weak link in the chain on a stock engine.
Wont make you any more power but will be more reliable

Did some work last night and got the heads off. The cylinders look pretty good. Looks like the heads will need to be sent off to be reconditioned.

Im looking at some of the chevy rebuild kits from summit racing. Has any one had any experience using them? they come with all gaskets, pistons, rings and oil pump.

Here are some pics of the progress.

Olmako get me those casting numbers on the heads so we see what you have. Some pics of the cyl head chambers and numbers off the main caps too. Those pistons are full dish low comp standard pistons. Ditch those and get these.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT 12 bucks a piston alot of bang for the buck. Are you running cast or chrome rings? Like sut30 says rods are very important in marine engines make sure they are ok or just replace them. Chevy cheaped out on some rods and made a thinner beam rod those are no good in any perf application Take a 9/16 wrench and see if it will fit over the rod beam if it fits thats the junk connecting rod.

Sorry olmako Didnt mean to imply C would be spooning you for the holidays, but he just plain walked into that one.LOL

It is a damn nice set up.

I havent gotten the adddition and the new 36 FT x 12 Ft garage bay started yet so I am out in the SNOW too.

I did score 2 really nice covers from Iboats special sale though. $79.00 a piece for $400.00 covers.

I also covered it with 2 inch foam insulation before throwing the covers on it.

I HATE WINTER!

H beam rods are so cheap these days theres really no good reason to run a stock type I beam in anything anymore!
Just My .02

Its not like the old days when you had to pay $1200 bucks for a set of crower rods to have a strong bottom end.
