I have re-attempted a more efficient response. The 26 is a great ride. With a little up dating(Gaffrig throttles, Revolution 4 props) the boat has a better than new attitude. The reason for the switch to 4 blades was exactly as mentioned, not enough stern lift. The matched set of 350's weigh in at quite a bit. The Revolutions are Merc. approved for the Alphas, so it was a great match. I picked up almost 8 mph at 3100 rpm (52ish cruise), and planing time was reduced dramatically. I still don't have a true top speed, still trying to dial it in. Hopefully the attached picture loaded. I have a larger file if you would like it emailed to you. Thanks.

What props were you using before, that you were able to pick up so much midrange speed? Are you using the 23"?

I picked up the boat with 21x3's, the motors would spin to almost 5100rpm. Way too high. I should be down around 4600, so by adding a blade and going up to 23x4's the rpms came down to the 4500 range. I'm sure you're aware of all the considerations when prop shopping. I wanted stern lift, better hole shot and a higher cruising speed. The boat now has a much more balanced feel to it. I'm sure that, too, helped the cruising speed. I can't wait for the "perfect" day to see what the top end is.

OWN A 1982 OCEAN PACER 30. owned the boat since 1986. original 370 trs boat called FIND ME. almost 100% restored only interior stuff left to do. will post pictures as soon as possible. boat runs 75 on fresh water. less than 600 total hrs on hull, 175 hrs on repower 450 hp with GIL everything.
