Do you know why EMI stopped producing and using the "thru" gaskets between the risers and manifolds ?

Mine came that way and when I went to polish them up, EMI said they dont make those gaskets any longer. They only sell the "blocked" gaskets and you have to run the bypass hoses.

theyt started block off the water ports because they did not want the water to leak past the gasket and fill the cylinders with water..i have sold a few sets and when i serviced the boats i put them on eddie sent me the closed gaskets and the bypass hose kit..they also told me to weld up the ecisting holes..so i tiged them shut and milled them flat again..no more worries..

I played hell trying to get mine to seal up on my Eliminator but I needed wedge blocks to get the risers to line up with my tips & the studs were not offset to compensate for the thickness. The riser bases would warp from tightening them down. Randy
