Vortech Superchargers
Selling a pair of Vortech Superchargers model# V-4J. They were on 500 EFI's and are approximately 10yrs old with approximately 250hrs. Running 4psi of boost. Was told the motors made just over 700hp. I can not confirm this tho. Boat they were on is 2000 35 Cigarette Top LE (Straight Hull) and was told it ran 88-90mph. I bought the boat in the spring with them on and took them off because I just did not want them ( I know, Im crazy, been told that many times). These are the open oiling system, so they were set up to tap into the engine oiling system. This should be a full bolt on set up for somebody with 500 EFI's as I took everything off. I was able use to some of the bolts for the stock brackets, so some bolts may need to be purchased to complete... Everything else I took off tho.
Superchargers, Chillers, Blow off Valves, brackets/ hardware/pulleys, oil lines, water lines, extra belts, are all included in sale.... basically everything you see in the pics are included. *Fuel pumps and Injectors may have to be upgraded* Asking $10,000 Curt [email protected] Any questions, please feel free to contact me via email or 8six2four3two8five0two |

Not to nit pick, at 4psi you would be around 590-610hp depending on how Merc rated it. Just Dyno'd my procharger motor and I made 460/615 (NA/SC) at about 6psi and the blower took about 30 hp to do it. Just so someone doesn't get unrealistic expectations. Real nice setup though. Good luck!

would installing these on a 500EFI increase how tall the motor is in the engine compartment?
It looks like i can buy a brand new set of just the charger assembly for about $3500 each from vortech. I know there is more included here than just the charger assembly, but can anyone tell me what a complete set would cost new? I just want to compare. |

I tried figuring out what new cost also, to try and figure out what price to list them at. I did find, as you did, just the charger listing for 3500, but nothing further. They will increase height a little, they were about even with my CMI E-Top headers. I will post a pic of when then were on boat to give you an idea.

These Vortechs can support 1100 HP and without knowing your build variables it's an apple to oranges comparison. Boost is a measurement of restriction.
