What is a leak in the transom? Will it need a new transom?

no idea. It could just be a leaking bellow or it could be a transom assemble is loose and is leaking water into the boat and soaking.I would say if that is the case it would need a new transom.

Went and looked at this boat this past weekend, it is rough. The swim platform has been repainted and you can tell where the old paint was. The boat has a lot of stress cracks, around the corners of the engine compartment and along the sides of it. The boat also has stress cracks on the lifting strakes on the port side. The cabin was soaking wet from the leaky hatch. Can you 28 Apache owners tell me if all these stress cracks are normal for the 28? How much would this boat be worth?
