Trim your trees and check your policies.

If one of those giant pine trees fall on your garage and kills your boat, it might not be covered. You will need your windstorm coverage on your boat policy. FYI

With Hurricane Ike threatening Texas, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with its federal partners, is assisting the state by providing equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impact of the emergency. The following is a short list of items and approximate quantities currently requested or deployed to Texas to meet the needs of evacuees and threat of landfall in Texas:

750,000 MEALS
120,000 COMFORT / HYGIENE KITS
290,000 BLANKETS
160,000 COTS
3000 SEATS ON MEDICAL EVACUATION VEHICLES
500 PERSONNEL: FEMA & OTHER FEDERAL PARTNERS
300 AMBULANCES
30 MEDICAL ASSISTANCE TEAMS
25 FIXED WING MEDICAL EVACUATION AIRCRAFT
21 SEARCH & RESCUE BOAT TEAMS
17 MOBILE DISASTER SUPPORT VEHICLES
10 TEXAS SITES STAFFED WITH RESPONDERS
10 URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAMS
FEMA is marshalling additional resources to meet anticipated requests.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
