We hang out at Scott's Ridge by the public boat ramp, but it is not very kid friendly. The party gets a little wild up there. There is a pretty good beach adjacent to the dam, and on the north East Corner of the 1097 bridge used to be a pretty good beach, I am not sure if the grass has grown up yet to cover it or not.

I would say the beach area next to the dam would be a decent place.

On another note, There is also a rental house there in diamond head that the current tenants have trashed :evilb:, I hear the owner lives in Houston and never really comes back to town much, when the lake goes down there is a real nice beach area there. Back when he used to live there he was always left town for month at a time and as nice a guy as he was he would leave all the doors unlocked, keys to any vehicle of your choice, Mercedes, Dodge Truck, Lawn mower, He had a Loan a tool Program that was great for anyone having engine trouble, the bathrooms, were always open and stocked with extra toilet paper, three freezers with ice cold beer, and really the only iffy area in the whole joint was the hot tub, that seemed to bubble with no electricity at all, :eekdrop: . I sure wish that guy would move back, because his tenants are always out of toilet paper and beer! :evilb:

Tbone, I am building a custom home in Vintage Oaks, on 1097 west. I have never seen a more liberal POA as far as barns and toys and stuff but still real nice homes. We sent over plans for house, pool, barn, man cave and even an outhouse and got approval back the next day. They just wanna sell lots. Paid $52k for an acre and half. Add a Baldwick homes $135 a foot house, Wades I build all day so I don't wanna build another one when I get off house or one of mine and you have a sweet place for under half a million ( so just less than you had in smooth without a fancy paint job )

We had 7 on our boat, 1 no show, and no spills, vomit, mechanical failures or injuries and a hell of a good time! We went about 100 miles all the way to everywhere and made every stop. That Windship and the HammerTime and Gunslinger were AWESOME.
