Default How is Clear Lake and Kemah doing

Anyone been out on Clear Lake and thru the channel to the bay since Ike? Anything submerged to be careful of?

Thinking about going down this weekend instead of Conroe.

I talked to a friend and he said there is a boat in the cannel by south shore harbor. And I also understand that there are docks missing at most of the ramps.

I would not go out on Clear Lake or Galveston Bay just yet, unless you are planning to take it real easy. There is still a lot of junk in the water and many sunken boats. We went by the launch under the Kemah bridge and it is usable, some of the docks are missing, but I don't know the condition of the channel going out to Kemah Channel. Kemah channel looks okay. The channel to Taylor Lake has several boats sunk in it. Kemah boardwalk is partially reopened. A couple of the Kemah restaurants are open, but not all. I don't know if the rides are open. It is slowly coming back. I think it will be spring before I would trust the water for running hard. Noah's has reopened in San Leon. Top Water is gone but planning on reopening some day. There are cranes in every marina lifting the damaged boats out. There are some barge type cranes working on the sunken ones.
